Hello PCP (Seddon And Lacey) thanks and welcome to Voice of Baceprot! Initially they had no "formal" music training, so they basically learned songwriting in their practice space, putting pieces together (their early songs are longer, jam-like journeys of 5 minutes or so). On their new (first) album, Retas, you can see the differences between School Revolution (an early song) and the more traditional approaches of Not Public Property or PMS (an earlier song that was redone). Their original inspirations included RATM, SOAD, RHCP, and Linkin Park. PMS is probably the most poppy of what they play, so if you want to hear their metal side, keep going! The bass player is a gem and brings a monster groove to the table!

You should watch their official music video for " School Revolution" the song itself was wrote while they were still around 16. It is the 1st song they ever wrote on their own.

You should check their song School Revolution, this song hits me hard and got me instantly hook by the music instrumentation and song structure.

If you're looking for some live material in front of a crowd, the sound quality of VoB performances at Transmusicales Rennes is probably the best, followed by Pasiwali Festival. Their covers of Killing in the Name and Enter Sandman are very popular (although I prefer their original music, it's interesting to see what they do with a couple of old standards). Other than that, @bw1342 has given an excellent summary. There's a lot of material out there - you can spend as much time as you want reading/hearing interviews with them, articles and news pieces about them and finding older originals and covers.

The best example for VOB music must hear KENTUT MERDEKA or " Song for the Sick Act".
PMS stands for Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya [ women who are completely independent ]
This song was actually written by Marsya (vocals, guitar), Widi (bass), and Sitti (drums) during high school around 2017 together with their counseling teacher and mentor Abah Erza.
“We write songs fueled by the residual energy we leave after school.
At that time, we were very enthusiastic about school activities, so basically we had to drag ourselves to the studio for workshops,” recalls Marsya.
PMS is an expression of VOB's antipathy, displeasure, and anger towards their current situation, both lyrically and musically.
Despite the conditions they were in, there wasn't a trace of fatigue in the songs they produced.
The main inspiration behind the lyrics of "PMS" comes from a series of short stories written by Indonesian writer Feby Indirani entitled "Bukan Perawan Maria" [ Not the Virgin Mary ].
This single focuses on VOB's protest against discriminatory and judgmental behavior that tends to be aimed at women who have different mindsets, perspectives, attitudes, and even desires or dreams compared to the norm.
Departing from a region where social norms are heavily influenced by not only religious values but also patriarchy, the VOB has had its fair share of gender-based discrimination in the past. The absence of post-high school life options for many girls other than marriage will be one of them. The same goes for career options, which are limited for VOBs and their peers due to gender discrimination.
"Ironically, it's not just men who would display such behavior, but our fellow women as well!" Marsya commented.
Voice of Baceprot (VoB) is one of the Indonesian metal band groups that speak out loud about social issues.
Marsya, the vocalist, revealed that the songs were explored from everyday experiences to reading references.

We are also big fans on this channel for music with a message especially when it is an important social message that speaks to the short sighted behaviours of some. I think it is a song that needs an even bigger audience amongst young women to get them to understand the discrimination they will face and to do everything in there power not to perpetuate this.

I suggest going back to their origin and watching 'School Revolution' either live or official music video as their first single, if you are going to keep watching and reacting to them. Best IMO to see bands chronologically to see how their style and ability has evolved and matured.
I am normally a chronological boy however Lacey convinced me to do the album which will be on the channel in the near future. We will swoop back round to anything that isn't on the album though as I love what I have heard so far.
