I never behold the stars that I do not feel that I am looking in the face of God. I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how he could look up into the heavens and say there is no God. Abraham Lincoln 19 years old.

as a little white boy in the early sixties, I used to watch a tv show called - I think - Jubilee Showcase on Chicago Sunday morning tv - because there were no cartoons on Sunday morning. it was a Gospel Music show and it made my little brain split open - my body turn on - the spirit entered and I was never the same thank God.

As a grown man pushing 40 I watched the same show in South Texas. When the Covid hit I deep dived into the Lord & Gospel Music. Been going strong ever since...Dixie Hummingbirds, Pilgrim Jubilees, 5 Bind Boys of Miss. & Ala. , Rev. Julius Cheeks, etc...Thanks to the Internet I was able to experience new what you Experienced as a young boy. Now, into my early 40's I love Jubilee Showcase! If you want to see an anointed woman play the piano (his wife) on CZcams check out the Rev. Julius Cheeks and "Morning Train". Good day.

Around 1964 this gospel-loving white boy took his date to a little church in Rochester N.Y. where the Staple singers did a one-nighter. Mavis, (??) I think it was, had a 100ft. microphone cord and when things got really cooking she went out into the audience and danced and held hands with us as she sang. To say it was a powerful experience would be grossly inadequate to describe what I felt. Besides the vocals, the beautiful haunting, sparing, understated, sublimely tasteful guitar of Pop Staples was powerful. At this time I believe the brother sang with his sisters also.

Golden Gospel Jubilee and this song was on it. My mother played this (on 8 track ) on Sunday mornings and I loved the entire tape. So many wonderful old time gospel songs that takes me back. This one being my all time favorite from that tape.

I found out this morning that I am dying. I am planning my funeral now. They tell me I have renal failure. The cake will be in the shape of a kidney chocolate or vanilla I have not decided. This song may be on the playlist. I am going to charge admission because many a people want me dead y as a Jewish business woman I want my daughter to have her Mercedes Benz paid off .
