- What do you keep when you've really, really downsized? Is it the best things, the oldest things, the things from people we knew or the things we've never been able to explain?
We see and hear great stories about all those topics at appraisal fairs like this recent one in Seattle, Washington! From Canada's leading silversmiths to framed art that conceals a dirty secret, the variety of fascinating objects people have preserved in families over the years is amazing! We see a bunch of them here...beautiful Asian artifacts, a gorgeous Victorian bar maiden, jewelry she might have worn and a sweet, homespun dog painting are a few of the great things people bring for us to evaluated.
Sometimes, it's the secrets these items are still keeping that must be revealed! We talk about one family's brush with George Bernard Shaw, see a scarf believed to have traveled with Nureyev and give advice about what to do when your item has a good story...but no visual evidence to prove it. Can you create value and keep the stories and the items straight? We tell all about it in this video!

I could watch and listen to you do this all day! You’re an incredibly knowledgeable but also very kind person.
You are so knowledgeable and fun to listen to. I love the extensive vocabulary you use when describing items and interacting with all kinds of people and objects. Thank you so very much. Always a follower of you.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot
Your extensive knowledge is amazing! I could listen to you all day.
Wow, thank you!
Oh yay; nice people, neat stuff. I am here to listen and learn ❤
Terrific show. You put everyone at ease, and it's obvious everyone was having a good time.
Thanks, I did too!
Like others have said, I could listen to you talk about antiques all day long. You have such a wealth of knowledge & I appreciate you sharing it with us! Thank you! 😊
I sure appreciate your interest!
Thank you, George, I Very much enjoyed your appraisal fair. I wish it had been at lease twice as long as it was.
There are more to come!
Wonderful!!!
I appreciate all of the information and am grateful ❤
I'm grateful for your interest!
Great Video my friend! Love the appraisals, always!
Glad you enjoyed!
Fascinating information, George, thank you!
This was very cool!!!😎Your knowledge continues to astound me! Thank you!❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Good evening, George. The Busch portrait was really pretty. Mom would've loved that piece. I liked the clay pipe. I'd like to have a Victorian cage lamp like the one the Navy lady had. I liked the other one, but not as much as the gyro lamp. I absolutely loved that C18 pewter plate. It might be a simple piece, but that really appealed to me. I liked the frame, with the double print, but not so much the prints. I could find a use for that frame 😉 They brought really nice and impressive things. These appraisal shows are something I really enjoy. Thanks for sharing them with us!
I loved the portrait! I also would like the gyro lamp, so interesting to me. It's always fun to see what people have kept a lifetime, love doing these appraisal fairs! Thanks for coming to see
I loved those German/Continental European lamps. My late father liked railroad lanterns and would have loved those .
Me too those were so cool
You are so interesting and knowledgable. I enjoy watching you and learning from you
Thank you!
Thank you for all the great videos. I am learning so much from you.
So glad!
This appraisal show sure had some very old and unique items.
Thanks everyone for bringing your items for George to appraise.
Thanks a bunch George for sharing your vast knowledge.
I truly enjoyed this. ♡
Thanks, so did I!
Where's all the thumbs 👍
thank you for contributing yours! It really helps
So glad to hear that there is some leniency coming in regarding the older antiques and vintage pieces. So many times I see resellers pass up a beautiful vase for example with the smallest of chips on the rim or bottom of the piece. It breaks my heart to see them left in a shelf. ❤
So much fun😊
😊👍
Hi Pammy
Hi Ya George from a beautiful sunny Alabama day..😁🌞
Wild George, you did it again. You are so knowledgeable and I love that. You know so much about this stuff? If I ever see one in the wild, then I'll know the approximate price of these items. Thank you so much, and have a good day and be safe.❤😊❤😊❤😊
I hope you do find these out there!
I thumbs up!
Thanks! It helps a lot
Delightful! The woman standing in the background should stop moving back-and-forth like a carnival duck
I always feel bad for the people in the backgrounds, they're not thinking they're on air and that their motions are distracting
It was the woman in a suit. Part of the management there, I assume.
❤❤❤❤
You are just such a wealth of knowledge. just soak it up. Gearing up for my big yard/parking lot sale with a special antique table. Being in this business is a load of fun. Buying something for a fraction of what it is worth is more common than one may think.
I'm so glad for that! I figure if I'm helping others succeed in this, we're all having fun and get to keep going
Missed it will watch soon
Hi George, great show. This group of items was certainly more interesting and significant than a typical show. I could see the Busch lady going for as much as $2K. It was in unusually good condition for such a piece. Most such items, if hanging in a bar, wouldn’t be in such excellent condition. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I do like showing these appraisals because it's such a random group of items and you never know what's next
Love seeing and hearing the stories and George's explanations and insights 🎉
Always so interesting to watch your appraisal fairs and learn something about so much ❤. Thank you for sharing your incredible knowledge with us 😊
Another great appraisal video George! Thanks for sharing!
Many thanks!
Cool items in this one George, I enjoyed it.🖤🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it, so did I!
That Nureyev gift could be framed in a box frame on an acid-free ground. I wonder if ballet houses have archives of publicity photos.
That's a helpful thought
Those last two pieces were fun, always happy to see postcards! I try to check out the backs quickly when I am listing but I honestly could be looked at a famous name and not know it most of the time.
I really like postcards! I look at the postmarks and postage as much as I look at who wrote them
Thanks so much George.
Thank you so much for Sharing. I so enjoy your appraisal I always learn so much. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Hi George, I enjoy your shows! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!! ❤
I just LOVE YOU GEORGE🥰
Aww thanks!
Great show George!👍
Enjoyed the video. So interesting as always. ❤ JoAnn

WHEN IS YOUR SPOKANE VIDEO COMING OUT ?
Not for another month probably, I'm backed up right now
Will you be doing appraisal in NC anytime George
I've been invited to do one in Aiken, SC, but haven't been able to schedule yet. If a sponsor appears to have me do one in NC, I'll set up a circuit!
