Theravāda gongs

  • Ewan Millar, percussion student at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, plays a set of 19th century spinning gongs from Myanmar. The gongs are on display in 'Theravāda Buddhism' at the National Museum of Scotland.
    Visitors to the display will encounter audio recordings of the gongs being played, providing a sensory experience, representative of the sound of visiting a Buddhist temple.

    amazing - as a committed meditator who has done many silent vipassana retreats, this is so amazing to hear!
