  • SWP 4400 brings a string of empty beet cars to Seeley, CA to include a couple of cars for the local Simplot facility. Due to the abundance of cars in Seeley, the crew will head caboose first back to El Centro with their loads of sugar beets.

    How'd you add the working lights on the gate arms? I've been brainstorming how to do that myself for a while now, but haven't worked it all out yet and could use some pointers.

    Where did you get or find those realistic crossing signals? They look so good!

      Thx. They are heavily modified NJ International products.

      That was my first real video. I'll make future ones that are more realistic.

    Weird seeing all those Southern Pacific and Burlington cars in there then a BNSF hopper in the crowd.

      SWP is a modern Regional Short Line that still runs beets out of the Imperial Valley. Those "woodies" were retrofitted with roller bearing trucks to make them FRA compliant after 1994. I haven't had time yet to change reporting Mark's and weather them. This was a beet job with a delivery to Simplot Soil Builders.

    Who makes the crossing gates and the blinking traffic light in the background? Looks awesome!

      That is a scratch built model I did. Street light too.

    If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to update the gates? I too have NJ International and want longer gate arms. Considered styrene, but not sure about sizing.

    • @MrChev95
      @MrChev95  Před 3 lety +1

      I used flat brass stock with a size that I felt was accurate. The original gates were much too short for that road.
