This collab is phenomemal... TBH... one of my top five with RM. RM isn't my bias, but he is EVERYTHING with the songs from his album in Indigo to thesebcollabs. I am just profoundly impacted!!!
I agree with you about boosting the volume on RM's voice during their harmony. You can hear him better on her live. He's not there, but the sound on his voice is stronger.
soyoon and namjoon are actually very good friends. she also attended hobi's jitb listening party where they all hung out.
as for the song, it was fully a collaboration (as in they wrote it together, it's their collective work).
the music video is supposed to visualize a dream (that's why the scenes are choppy and random). because the song talks about desire for someone, love that you cannot have (because of unacceptance, for example) therefore it manifests in different ways in the dream and can only exist in the dream because you can't actually be with that person/act on those feelings.
the name "smoke sprite" comes from the name for the effect used in media/cartoons where something disappears with smoke left behind it/them.

I’ve determined I can’t watch his MV’s for collabs first, lol. They always take me out and then later I end up loving the songs! You should watch the behind but also, she did a live solo performance on curve channel that was amazing. She’s the lead guitarist. She also did an interview with Eric Nam where she described their collaboration and what the MV is about.
At first listen I was perplexed. Then I listened this song several times and now I love it. Her voice is so beautiful and unique. Her album is so good too.

I remember I was following videos of her band performing in Berlin back before the pandemic so I've been a fan at least 3 years now. So-yoon is a prodigy electric guitarist, I joked that maybe she's Jimi Hendrix reincarnated. For being so anti-Kpop she gets a fair amount of media attention in Korea, on talks shows and the like.

I agree with having RM's voice volume increased a little bit during their harmony bit. But I loved this music video and the song. After listening to a few times, it's one of my favourite songs.
Also, there's (I think) 2 videos of behind the scenes/making of the mv. 1 is on Bangtan channel and 1 is on Soyoon's channel. And there's 2 live performances of Soyoon singing this song, though RM is not there physically singing but his part in it during the harmony part is a bit louder and makes their voices go together so well. I agree with what Kat said about RMs part being a little too low compared to hers when they sang together. Unless it was a stylistic choice where in the story they were telling she's a dominant/problematic person in the equation, then it would have been nice for them to be more "equal" in volume during that part.
It was so funny to me as soon as the song ended and Jenny you said 'I don't know how I feel about that' that was exactly my reaction when I first heard it too! It took a couple more listens and now I love it! I would say it's the sort of song that grows on you and then suddenly before you know it you're obsessed and listening to it everyday 😅.
Also I can totally see why you think they'd make a great power couple - they do look great together, however I'm pretty sure SoYoon is very gay 😅watch the MV for her song bad it's so good and it starts with two women kissing 🥰
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. RM has been a fan of this band for years. He goes to a lot of their concerts. So over the years they hang out often and he is friends with the band these days. The collab i hear was not planned. it just happened by chance. There are behind the scenes on both channels i think. hope u check those out. Alternative rock i don't love. But it just a matter of the song. This one took me awhile to get used too. Liked RM's voice with So!YoON. I agree they needed to raise the volume of his voice some when they were harmonizing. Interesting visuals. Based on the Eng lyrics the song seems a little TMI. 0.0 My interpretation might be wrong though. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💜
