Yana Ayana I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that. It’s a terrible, disrespectful and tragic way to treat any performer. She tried so hard to get them to interact with her, appreciate that she was there, right in front of them and she’s amazing! What a once in a lifetime experience - the key word being experience, because you need to be present. What a disgrace so much of humanity has become. I’m so glad that I’m past my concert days, because for as on point and incredible as Ciara is to watch I feel the exact opposite about the zombie crowd who was more concerned about a crappy iPhone video that will get tossed aside in a week. They are literally on a national tv show, they were being professionally filmed with that video being made easily accessible and still completely ignored her.
This is a very basic law of physics; you cannot simultaneously record an objects speed and location because the moment you stop to record the location, you stop that object in time and can no longer detect its speed. You can’t experience something first hand while recording it. You willingly turn yourself from an active participant to another annoying, ego maniacal, self obsessed jerk with a phone that ruins professional photos and video but also everyone’s good time. Public Service Announcement: live your damn life everyone. No one cares about your recordings of every moment of your life. That is not living your life, it’s filming it being wasted in front of you. Don’t be the person that films something horrific instead of helping. Everyone put down your phones, don’t hit record, just experience something without fearing it being used against you later. Treasure the people around you more than the temporary ego boost from the validation of faceless strangers. Feel things when they happen. Wake up and live!
