That also means it is a subjective thing depending on who you are. I still think you should try to reflect these values in the price of the ring to a certain extent. If you do not want to do so, thats your call. I spent about $12k on a ring which was a lot for me but doable. I didnt spend anything that would negatively influence our future but was still reflected the signifcance of the purchase. To me the value of the stone was most important and I looked at about 500 diamond reports to find something that was valued extremely well. I even found comparables at 18k in Canada and went to a US dealer in a state with no taxes and brought it across the border. Canada has additional taxes on these items and that only inceased the overall value of the purchase in my view. Even though you lose a lot of value when you make the purchase, it is still likely to hold onto a fair amount of its value forever. I make the same calculation with any jewellry purchase I make. If I buy a 24k gold necklace as a gift, I am more concerned with the difference between its spot price of gold and what Im paying for it compared to just the overall price. All of these things are completely subjective and the only important thing is that it aligns with good financial decisions (for your personal situation) and the gesture is not expected. If you chose to spend a significant amount and it is in alignment with good values, there is nothign wrong with that. There is also nothing wrong if the woman has some expectation that you spend a reasonable amount to demonstrate these values. She should be just as mad at you if you significantly over-spend as if you underspend. That is part of the pupose of marriage. You are helping to balance each other out to hopefully create a more stable homelife when you decide to have kids. Outside of these reasons the value of marriage becomes a lot more narcissistic (assuming you dont have fertility issues or other out of the ordniary circumstances). The purpose of marriage as an institution has always been the rearing of children since it is in the interest of society to promote having, and properly rearing children which requires a stable home life with a mother and a father. It is fine if you are non-traditional, however, if this became the avergage rather than the exception our society would fall apart which is why this is an objective fact and not an opinion. Marriage is pointless if the average married couple chooses not to have children. The ring itself should be there to align with these goals, on average, and there are clearly larger problems when all of these things are out of whack. If it becomes the case that the average person is financially unable to fulfill these obligations and chooses not to have children because they no longer beleive in these morals or are unable to afford to live up to them, there are much larger social issues and we are likely to not have a country within a few generations. People can pretend all they like that these things are subjective and the meaning is held withing the spceific couple, however, the overall metrics do not lie and neither do the results. I do not care about anyone elses relationships outside of how it effects our overall society. That is why social pressures exist and spending money on a ring is just a small part of that larger picture. If the price of a ring is more influenced by marketing and corporate pressure, this is another signifier that things are not right. It appears we are the first gerneration to have to really make that decision as to which way we are going to let our society go. Marriage is one institution, a significant one at that, that will make this decision.

I would guess their expectations are somewhat when they're younger and thus in demand. However, most young women regardless of their beauty find it very hard to monetize their looks, even with tools (simp tool?) such as OnlyFans as the competition for those lonely male dollars is fierce. I think the reason so many older women then become delusional is because they remember being a young adult and thus think they deserve the same treatment as they get older.
This is why young men need to practice picking up women as soon as possible. A woman turning them down should mean next to nothing to them. Rude people are generally whatever they accuse everyone else of being. When they call others boring they usually are. When they accuse others of being selfish they are. They'll even say others are being rude while being completely obnoxious.
