  • I've been working hard lately on something new in the Philippines. It will take a while, but I think it could be a positive project!
    This is another day in our life video from the coast of Cateel, Davao Oriental. Raw and real experiences, working on new projects, and explaining this new journey I am going on... One by drone. All around the Philippines!
    So much new stuff going on everyday here along the coast...
    POWER ON!

      The guys can use some non-greasy foods sometimes. Too much oil, typical local cuisines are too greasy.

    Yes, engineering blue prints required all over USA. You provide these to the local county and they must approve it for building laws, etc…
    Thank you to all of you by being examples to save the turtles and the sharks and addressing the stray dogs, trash, etc…
    It’s essential to educate the public on such things. Kulas you have a huge reach and I hope more ears will listen. Thank you to you and The Filipino Beach Boys.

    Some people have mentioned that sharks cannot breath without swimming. *This is not true*
    Well it isn't exactly false either... Basically there are two types of shark, pelagic and benthic; and the distinction between those two are important in this discussion. Pelagic sharks are those that live in the open ocean while benthic sharks live in shallower waters like reefs and seagrass meadows. The general rule is that pelagic sharks cannot breath without swimming while benthic sharks can. Benthic sharks have the ability to move water through their gills without swimming. They can close their mouths and force the water inside to pass through their gills.

    Not just buildings, roads, bridges, sewers, trainlines, even boats, cars and land etc..... they are all started from a drawing or design.... a lot of it is done on computer nowadays with CAD but actual hard copies are still required for planning processes etc...... I worked as an Engineers assistant when I first left school, working on a local new road project and maths is a big part of an Engineers / Designers / Architects job...... it's things we take for granted, like the road not flooding or the floor of your house being level.... even your car door opening and shutting and not letting water in when it rains...... it's all down to someone who worked out how it should all fit together, whether by hand or by computer.

    In North America, “blueprints” are printed off printer/plotters and they come off black and white or colors, not like those ones made out of ammonia printers. Submissions and distributions are digitized copies, not with those bulky paper copies, and you can customize the size of your print as you wish.

    • @MrVens11
      @MrVens11 Před 3 lety

      Digitised copies kill the printing industry. There should be paper copies as well since paper is more accessible.

    • @Aqualastic
      @Aqualastic Před 3 lety

      @@MrVens11 The good thing about digital copies is that you can access the drawings from anywhere in the world without tagging along a 30-page blueprints, as an example. Also, anybody from the team can make updates as they go, in which case, you always have an updated drawing on your server for everyone to refer to. But for me, the best feature, is to be able to pull out a drawing that fits into your pocket.

    • @MrVens11
      @MrVens11 Před 3 lety

But here in Luzon it is called 'hagad,' it's Tagalog for 'chase' or 'to chase' referring to the big displacement motorbike used by police units as having the capability and authority to chase cars or any vehicle at speed or as escort or security detail for [supposedly] high ranking government officials and dignitaries.

    “Hagad” is slang for Highway Patrol bikes in the 70’s and 80’s. We had CHPG(Constabulary Highway Patrol Group) then and PC(Philippine Constabulary) and Metrocom (Metropolitan Command) then. It could have been pronounced as “haggard” sometimes. Thumbs up senior citizens.

      Hagad translated in English is 'to chase'.

    • @jjfonacier
      @jjfonacier Před 3 lety

      @@yteduser “Hagad” is used as a noun not as a verb. These are two ways the word is used.
      “May hagad diyan. “ is meant as a quick warning to people that there’s a motorcycle cop around the corner ready to give you a ticket for traffic violation.
      “Naka-hagad siya“ means someone is riding on a big bike specifically the ones used by motorcycle cops complete with police markings.

    • @yteduser
      @yteduser Před 3 lety

      @@jjfonacier, You're right , the way they were talking about it in the video, they were clearly describing a motorcycle being referred to as hagad. The motorcycle cops were also called hagad because of what they usually did while on duty. They chased criminals and law-breakers. So the action of chasing (verb) became a noun when referring to the motorcycle cops (chasers) and also their motorcycles. So, the origin of the word hagad is from the verb, to chase. To use it in a sentence::: "If the criminal is fleeing, the hagads (cops) can hagad (chase) him down on their hagads.(motorcycles)" LOL.

    The foreman gave a copy of the blue print to the people who works in the house so that they know where to put the basement washroom, furnace and so on. 😁

    Owning a construction/demolition business here in the US for 30+ years. Yes, you need a blue print for building/construction. The difference is, if there's any changes to the plan, an engineer has to draw it up for you, THEN a city inspector has to personally come to your location, inspect it, and sign off on the "new design". Unlike your project, you cant just randomly make changes as you wish if there's a city building code for it. I'm sure the BIG commercial building in PH is the same way as the US code, since it involves public safety and insurance/ bank loans, it has to be done right.

    Watching from Ontario, Canada. Yes you need the blue print/designs to apply for building permit to ensure you meet the building codes.

    Hagard is highway guard sort of an adapting word as the they hear it, same as atop which is roof in bisaya, americans/english speaking foreigners might have said it as atop a house describing the roof but heard by the bisaya and adopted it as atop as their own😀

    Yes, In canada you have submit plans and blueprints but, In Coombs (Goats on the roof) you can build without permits or plans. I built a Harley Davidson shop there, of course I built to code for safety reasons. Yes that's a Nurse Shark, I've swam with them many times in Mexico. I even dove down 15 ft. and grabbed a 6ft. one and held it under the belly and swam up so I had photos of me holding one on the surface. Amping guys . P.S That's not a chicken, that's a ROOSTER ( Gallo) LOL P.S.S have you been promoted yet from Tita to Tito....I'll have to ask Kumar and Jundee

    Well if you are building on your own, you will get your own architect and contract a builder but now, you go to a Building Developer and you ichoose the kind of style and pick the flooring, cabinets, color of the house, fixtures, etc. Blueprints is by request if you want to see it. I built a house in 1995 and it was very easy, in Florida USA

    Actually, the word Hagard is a Bisaya evolution of the tagalog street vernacular Hagad that means a motorcycle cop who drove large motorcycles. I do not know how the word Hagad developed but I remember when I was learning to drive in Manila, whenever someone screams "Hagad" it meant watch out for Smokey the Bear.

    • @chattcedric6321
      @chattcedric6321 Před 3 lety

      gyjainga, Very well said based on your experience, but some Bisaya can't accept that simple fact and insisted their own understanding/perception of that word.

    • @gyjainga
      @gyjainga Před 3 lety

      @@chattcedric6321 Okay, let's hear their explanation. The word Hagad was in use in the 1960's when I was conscious of the word living in Manila. When I and the boys I hung out with heard Hagard for the first time, it was in the 1970's. We found it appropo because we thought that "-gard" was the corrupted use of the word "guard " which is in close affinity to police. The strength of my argument is the fact that that my "uncles" were bisaya and I never heard them use the word "hagard". In fact, they were sheepish about it when they had to admit that the word "hagard" was bisaya in origin.

      @@gyjainga Hagard was not only used in Bisaya, 'coz when I went to Bicol I also heard that word and I corrected them. Besides, the Police Officers on Big Bikes were never called "Guard" in Manila and Suburbs. If you remember the Actor Chiquito, he was a Makati City Hagad before he became an actor.

      @@chattcedric6321 You'll have to give a better account about it's orgins. I gave you years and an account with my bisaya uncles who were related to my bisaya mother. Oh, yes, Chiquito. Interesting you mentioned him. He would park his black BMW motorcycle beside our apartment in Mendoza street in Santa Ana visiting his mistress. Being kids we would stand by his beautiful bike and dream of having one ourselves. We would overhear motorcycle talk every time and the word "hagard " was never used.

      @@gyjainga Hahahha, so we are of the same age eh, and if we are neighbors most probably we're Barkada. I was raised in Proj.4 QC and my Tambayan was Cubao long, long before Araneta Coliseum was built. And the HAGADs were all over Highway 54, now EDSA. I already explained the meaning of HAGAD in my previous comments that it literally means Chase or Pursue. Pasensyahan na lang natin ang mga taong nagkamali ng pagdinig at pagbigkas ng HAGAD dahil hindi nila alam ang tunay na pinagmulan ng katagang iyan. Sige 'pre ingat na lang. Salamat sa magandang usapan natin.

    A blueprint is a reproduction of the technical drawing or engineering drawing using contact printing on a light sensitive paper. The blueprint maybe that of a residential house, commercial building, manholes and conduits, roads including underpasses, etc.

  • @eleanorpakilit
    @eleanorpakilit Před 3 lety

    Even here in the US you have to have blueprints or design plans of what you’re planning to build to be submitted, checked and approved before you can start building then inspectors will come and check the ongoing project making sure that you are following the design plans that you submitted.
