  • Audio | Ojai 1985 - School Discussion (Teachers) - Education, fear and breaking the cycle of time
What is the cause of conflict in the school?
What kind of school do you want?
The intentions of the Krishnamurti schools.
One is afraid not only of the future but of the past.
Is it possible to break the cycle of time?
The brain is the result of the cycle of time. Is it possible for it to bring about a mutation?
Are anger and jealousy different from you? Is your thinking different from you?
If I am you, how can I be in conflict with you?
The original recording was paused twice during the discussion.

The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

More powerful than the will to win is the courage to begin.-

As one who has been in education for over 30 years and one who has known ( and loved) K's teachings for probably 25....this is the first time I've come across him speaking with teachers at his school .... And I find it awesome and fascinating. It is the kind of discussion that I feel is desperately needed in my system. K, to me, models what a great teacher should be.
We want our students to think and question and reason about who they are. If we agree with K that we are the world and the world is us, then to better ourselves does then better the world ... Because WE ARE THE WORLD. Humanity is not "out there". Humanity is us. We are all the result of billions of people who have come before us. As educators we need to help our students explore who they are and in doing so they just may improve the world.
"We must educate the educators but that is hard." Krishnamurti

I want my kids to be healthy ppl with joy in themselves and free to be themselves, honest ppl, not saints but honest with them and others. Not fearful, or anxious.

I am so grateul to hear a video where people who are in the same room as Krishnamurti and who’s children are being educated in a school founded by him and his colleagues, could still be so petty and sanctimoniously passive-aggressive. So many people throughout the centuries have tried to get us to stop bickering over trite, childish bullsh** , but clearly it isn’t going to happen. No matter how concise krishnamurti is about setting aside our training of class and personal crusades to fix everyone else, we just can’t grow up. All our saints have failed. Consciousness will try something else.

I don't think so all the saint have failed, its just the those person who have corrupted the teaching over time for there own benifits. And its repeated so many times thats why you get the glimpse of this kind of teaching in every religious scripture but the meaning have lost because belief is introduced in it.

This was fascinating to hear. I have always listened to Krishnamurti to prompt thought. Some of these parents want to save the world - hence the frustration. Did Krishnamurti implore people to single handedly save the world? Why, then, expect each child to? It’s too burdensome. But to encourage thought about individual responsibility, is where it’s at, with academic success and a brain that thinks autonomously. This is the first time I have considered that there could be a cult-like element to the apparent “followers” of Krishnamurti. I have privately listened to Krishnamurti for the past three years. His teachings have been a source of understanding and often comfort. But to infer that a school cannot function without him, was my first hint that there was the inevitable cult-like following. I was considering going to the Krishnamurti Center in the UK, but this has really been the warning shot that I needed, because even if the teacher I respect is clear about free-thinking, I now fear that the people who depend on him are dysfunctional.

You’re incorrect bcuz HE is trying to: Clarify terms, concerns, meanings, etc.
But- THEY are DEMANDING he literally script… “conflict?” “Good” “better” etc? DEFINE YOUR TERMS yet they are refusing to examine their own assumptions and beliefs

So sad. Such a desire to conflict.
