I locked myself out of my truck before at the fuel island. I panicked for like a second and then realized I had a extra key under my hood. After that I got a third key and kept it in my wallet

Part of the reason why my CDL school was so strict on students taking the key with them as they do their PreTrip.
And it’s clear that makes perfect sense now
Always roll a window down when getting out the truck, make it a habit always pop a window down 5/6 inches
Lock the door with your keys only or leave the window open if you're only getting out real quick
