  • This is the first in a series of videos that are intended to provide basic technical elements for those who are new to the study of the harp. I really enjoy your lessons. I had to quit taking skype lessons with my teacher due to financial concerns. These lessons will be extremely helpful so I can maintain my technique. Thank you so much for what you are doing.

Thanks Ray for doing this. It is great contribution especially for those who are starting learning to play harp. I hope you keep continuing. Thanks again.

Well, since I lived in the middle of New York City at the time this was made (W. 85th and Broadway on the Upper West Side), that just shows what good hearing you have. I do my best with what I'm given.

Thanks for your comment. I know for many in the folk harp community that they do not have local instruction available. I'm pleased to offer a bit of advice. The best thing to do is to try to attend a festival where workshops are available. The Somerset Folk Harp Festival is a great place to start! Every summer in New Jersey.

Thanks for your kind message. There is no substitute for individual instruction, but I do hope my video series will keep the focus on important issues. A good technique goes a long way in every kind of repertoire. Best wishes!
