Amazing video as always! You are so good at describing what books are about, I'm terrible at it!😂 I've never read any of Kae Tempest's poetry but I'd really like to! Also I'm soooo excited to read Yellowface, I've heard so many amazing things about it💜

Thank you lovely! You are definitely not terrible at it 😅 Oooh you have to read Kar Tempest! They're amazing. Fingers crossed Yellowface lives up to the hype! x

Yes, this is an amazing list and I've really liked previous releases by Markley, Chakraborty, Barry, Thomas, Tempest, Melchor and Kuang. How to Think Like a Woman and Rural sound super interesting. I've just started The Deluge, mainly because my audiobook and ebook subscription service won't offer books from Simon & Schuster after 14 May.
Stolen by Ann-Helén Laestadius (translated from the Swedish by Rachel Willson-Broyles) is about a Sámi girl growing up and having to deal with the violence, abuse and prejudice against the Sámi, as well as the misogyny within her own community. I'm curious about the The Middle Daughter by Chika Unigwe, a modern retelling of the Hades and Persephone myth which doesn't seem to romanticise their relationship.

Aren't they all brilliant! 😍 How are you finding The Deluge? Oooh yes, Stolen is on my tbr! I think it sounds wonderful - just need to get my hands on a copy.

@@JasmineReads So The Deluge is a 30+ hours scarily realistic climate anxiety ride. I got really invested in it and finished it in five days or so. Usually I'm not too impressed by multiple POVs of this number (I think there are at least ten) but for once it worked for me, maybe because numerous perspectives fit a scope of this kind.

I really enjoyed Ohio, but haven’t picked up his new one. Looking forward to Old God’s Time.

I know the feeling! I feel like I've been reading so much, and there's still so many more new books I haven't gotten to yet! Not the worst problem to have, I suppose 🤣

I read Ohio recently and it’s my favourite book of the year so far by miles! I need a little breather before reading The Deluge though 💖
