    Could do that all day, tinkering with old trains. Worked on the old electric cars we had here in the UK, so much more character than what replaced them, and more reliable too given abit of TLC.

    So incredibly jealous. I've been to the shop at WDW on their "Magic Behind the Steam" tour but I'd sure love to do the same at Disneyland. Thanks for sharing!

    If I were rich, would have one of these encircling my entire property and ride it everyday. Would have a sound system put in so I could play the Orange Blossom Special and Wabash Cannonball over the speakers too. Kid at heart here. Lol

    Wow that was back when the E. P. Ripley was running historically that was Walt Disney's engine When he first come to the park he would personally drive the EP Ripley Which I thought is pretty cool

    CK Holliday is out for refurbishment. So is the Lilly Belle steamer at the Walt Disney World Railroad.

    Sounds like the valve timing is off on the locomotive. Really noticeable when she is going slow.

      I thought so too, but it’s really because it’s slipping. The track in the asphalt caused it to slip

    It's interesting that i never noticed the disneyland locomotives ran on oil, First i thought they are coal burners but there oil burners, Very interesting!

    Why not spice it up a bit with different whistles?
    1) C.K. Holliday should have Sierra Railway #3's Lima 5 Chime whistle
    2) E.P. Ripley should have Baltimore & Ohio 6 Chime whistle
    3) Ward Kimball should have ATSF 3751's whistle
    4) Fred Gurley should have Shay #4's whistle
    5) Ernest Marsh should have SP 4449's new whistle.

      Because of Walt’s wishes and how he ran the railroad. He selected every whistle. (With the exception of #5) so the run the engines exactly how they were as Walt wished.

    I like how the firebox is used to illuminate the speedometer.

      It's actually not the Firebox, there is a small light out in front of the speedometer and pressure gauge that illuminates them

      @FoolishMortal01 well I was just wondering because it just didn't feel real, the steam felt like something from a fog machine and I have noticed that most places have fake locomotives, but I do like the Disneyland railroad.

      They are diesel powered burners (no coal) but everything will kill you just like a "real" train.
      They do have some safety items, low water alarm and burner cut out are the big one in my book.
      These guys are awesome and like a 5 year old I always wave to them.
