Cows for example would die very quickly from infection and other effects of poor health maintenance. We take care of them and they take care of us by being our food. Its how the food chain works from our position on it.

He didn’t comfort the dolphin he stressed it out by handling more than necessary. The kisses were all for him.
It’s great he freed it from the net but the second that was don’t it should have been put back immediately in the water. If it got separated from its pod (the longer it’s out the greater the risk of separation and the swim fast) it will be predated and be eaten very quickly.
But not kissing a wild, terrified animal, looks cuter 🙄

@@Bamboule05Dolphins aren’t whales, the absolute largest among them is topping out at 450 pounds, and that almost entirely muscle, this one is substantially smaller than an adult and I’d be surprised if he hit 150 based on how casually the guy is lifting him. Dolphins breathe air and do not require water to respirate.
Furthermore, while the dolphin themselves is indeed lighter in the water, that is because _the water is heavier than it,_ causing it to push it from all sides as it attempts to sink below it, which is what causes buoyancy as it displaces the water. But that same process generates water pressure, which makes it harder for the lungs to expand. (As you have to displace even more water by using your lung muscles to push back against the pressure). It is in fact far harder for a dolphin to breath in the water, in the air it has less pressure crushing it not more (Thats why divers get The Bends when they come up too fast) and you could easily test this yourself by comparing your own ability to breath while standing in a pool to standing outside of it, since as mammals our lungs are not so different from theirs. The pool will take more effort, though its only a minute difference.
Dolphins can easily survive outside of water for hours at a time, and regularly do so during advanced veterinary surgery. The main things limiting them are not pressure or air supply, but rather moisture and temperature regulation. Dolphins generate a lot of body heat, because the ocean is freezing and water is very thermally conductive, thus they don’t need to worry about sweating or panting to cool off, but when they are removed to the much less dense much more warm air it cannot drain that heat fast enough and they will eventually begin to experience hyperthermia (heat stroke). For this reason it is best to keep dolphins in air conditioned rooms, and regularly spray them with water to help keep them cool while operating on them. However no mechanism is required to avoid “weight on the lungs” because they can breathe air just fine,

The "widespread problem" is commercial fishing, not locals just trying to get by. The supply (the how) will only change, when the demand (the why) dictates it to do.
