    For those who need to know how to get into clinical menu, as in the event you need the pressures, or other clinical adjustments, this is your right, and YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know this, but to get into clinical menu, Press and hold BOTh the Rotary knob, and the RAMP button, until you see the menu, you've got several advanced menus from which t choose.

    Just got my machine and so far your video has helped me figure out the machine usage out of the box the best. Also had question on Flex mode and found the answer in comment section. Thanks for helping me start off right. My machine came via mail and good luck figuring it out.

    My flex mode is locked, can't adjust it. That's dumb. My ramp time was set at 20 minutes at 4. I'll try the humidification on locked tonight to see the difference. The best most thorough video's I've seen so far. I had to download my own manual as they did not give me one yesterday when they brought the machine. In fact they didn't cover much of anything. Thanks.

    Hello! How come my cpap dream station machine did not ramp from 6 to11 can you teach me how to operate it in autimatic. The ramp did not change and is their any problem if i refill the water to the tank without taking out in the cpap machine. I always do that everyday for a 4 months now.

    This video is alright. I thought it was lacked more detailed information. He didn't really go into details of what the various numbered parameters settings entailed. For example he said you can adjust the mask type from x1 to x3. But, what does each setting mean? That would have been very helpful!!!! Instead I'm left wondering WTF does it means? I checked the User Manual, and it's freaking useless as well.

    I have been using the PR Dream Station for only a couple weeks, but long enough to make these 2 critical observations:
    (1) The front facing readout is a design mistake. The old System One top facing readout made sense. To avoid getting water into the tube, people with the humidifier attachment (most people) place the machine lower (not higher) than the bed. Therefore, the only way to see the readout is to lie down on the bed and look at it sideways, or to pick the machine up (with wire and tube attached - yeah sure!). Bad design!
    (2) The reservoir cradle & mechanism for the humidifier water is a Rube Goldberg nightmare. The System One design was (again) much better. You are lucky if you can get the reservoir in OR out with the Dream Station. The System One machines in this regard were simple and easy - fewer moving parts! Also, the Dream machine puts the humidifier in the back instead of the front, making it harder to reach to insert or remove.
    As far as the software I haven't noticed any significant difference between the 2 machines.

    this video was the best of them all. why they do not furnish a book with this information in it I don't know.. I did not know what to ask etc when I first got my machine and they went over it with me. after a few days of use I had questions but not books to explain and I had to call to get more infor and I finally just took my machine in and went over it with the therapist. He was unsure of a couple of things and guestioned why one of my fuctions were set at zero,,, the heat of the water. I told him they told me to reset mine this way when I called the first time and it seems to work fine. Maybve he needs more training on this machine. The first man was good...

    • @BMAN7087
      @BMAN7087 Před 8 lety +14

      +IndependentFckr Flex mode is a comfort feature exclusive to the Respironics trademark. There are two types pf flex mode, A-flex and C-flex. A-flex will soften the pressure upon inhalation and exhalation depending on a setting of 1 to 3. 1 being the least and 3 being the most comfortable. C-flex on the other hand only reduces the pressure drop on exhalation. Hope that helps.

      yes...I caught that too...WHAT IS IT FOR??????? When I went to get my machine,,,the woman handed me the case it was in,,,and said OK,,,enjoy...I ask,,,isn't someone going to show me how it works???? She said,,,"There is a booklet in the case showing you how to use it" I looked at her,,,like I was looking through her,,,So,,,if I have questions I call them and ask,,,and they seem kinda short,with me,,,and I tell them,,,well,,,,,,,IF,,, you had SOMEONE there to help people like me to understand how to use it,,,I wouldn't have to call you every week,,,SORRY!!!!!!!! my other machine ,,,you pressed a gray button to turn it on and off,,,and two other buttons to control humidity from 1 to 5 level and it was very east to use,,,,,,,,HOWEVER....the DREAM STATION is by FAR a more complicated machine,,,like this information above,,,what does the flex level do? Guess I will have to look up that information too,,,Heaven forbid them show and tell you how to use it.

    • @krozareq

      @@ronnieevers5115 I have a PDF manual for it. Here's for FLEX: "This allows you to adjust the level of air pressure relief that you feel when you exhale during therapy. Your home care provider can enable or disable this feature. When your provider enables Flex, a level will already be set for you on the device. You can increase or decrease the setting from 1 to 3. The setting of “1” provides a small amount of pressure relief, with higher numbers providing additional relief."

  • @roymeals3255
    @roymeals3255 Před 7 lety

    please explain what the you mean when you say inhalation means and what is the suggested setting

    • @kaymilledge
      @kaymilledge Před 5 lety +1

      Inhalation refers to the pressure you inhale (breath out) . Exhalation is when you exhale (breath out). C-Flex is most common because most people have a harder time exhaling against the pressure coming through the mask. It is like a comfort setting.You can try the setting 1-3 to see which comfort setting feels best. Often times patients with pressures settings 10 or less cant tell a difference with the flex on. It is most helpful with really high pressures.

    Ok, I can set the flex mode from 1 to 3, but what IS the flex mode?

    • @kaymilledge
      @kaymilledge Před 5 lety +2

      Flex is a comfort setting to help you breath against the pressure coming through the mask. It is usually harder to breath out (exhale) against the pressure than breathing in (Inhale). Flex is most helpful with higher pressure settings (greater than 10)

    really a month to 6 weeks old and it gets stuck in "service required" mode, and is not usable. my old machine had 20000 hrs + according to the clinic that said i should get a new one and i get this crappy thing. and i cant even use it after approximately 4-6 weeks really flipping really. i have to send this thing off or drive 400 miles to get it fixed or to get a new one.. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ISSUES WITH THESE FOR YEARS. again Really "service Required" cant use after 4 - 6 weeks. how much do these things cost again??????

    I have one good question my dream station leaks water through my mask why?, and how i fix this? its every night this happens so annoying.

    • @kaymilledge
      @kaymilledge Před 5 lety +3

      The machine probably isn't leaking. It collects condensation in the hose from the humidifier heat setting being much warmer than the room air. Very much like a glass of ice water sitting on a table "sweating" because the water in the glass is much cooler than the room temperature. To fix this, you need to insulate your hose. An easy way to do this without buying material is to cut the leg of a pair of pants off, thread your hose through the pant leg, use a rubber band on either end to secure it. This should help keep the condensation out of the hose.
