I tried this, and it seemed to work, but the next time I tried it it did not work. Why won't it default to a level you can see it? Looks like it is landfill bound.... I just bought it (2024) and this video is 4 years old. One would think since this is a known issue Garmin would have fixed this by now.

So weird..every time I turn on my stimulator, my depth changes and shows it to be very deep like 40-50ft when really I’m only in 5-6ft of water. And it doesn’t show me any fishes? Do I have a broken one or?

If its on simulator its not going to show you your accual details the "simulator" is for when its on display at a store. You need to plug in transducer all the way and hit traditional or ckearvu

@@cackalacky_outdoors4959 Watched a video of a bloke taking his boat out for the first time. Fish finder was still in demo mode, they were looking at the screen excitedly watching all the fish under the boat in 5m of water, dropping lines on top of fish, but no bites. Little did they know that they were in fact in 0.5m and in a green zone (Strictly no fishing - huge fines!). When they went to leave the pulled the anchor up and wondered why there was only 1m of rope out in 5m of water. haha
