    I'm a 2dr guy, but can't imagine wanting this package from factory if it had been available when I got my JLR. I'm glad it exists though, because I bought those fender flares from mopar on sale and they turned out to be my favorite cosmetic upgrade. So minimal, but makes the stance that much beefier, especially on an already chunky 2dr. The fitment is probably going to look awesome when I finally upgrade to 35s or 37s in the next year.

    Little known to the public is an axle option only available on the Rubicon ( I think,) which are the factory Ultimate Dana 44 axles. They're larger diameter, thicker walled axle tubes with better gussets and webbing, and best of all, no FAD. Plus, I think they have chromoly steel axle shafts. Maybe this is just rumor, but I believe it to be a real thing.

    The elephant in the room on the 2023 was they got rid of the 25 bolt bead lock capable wheel and swapped it for a 10 bolt. The only thing "Extra" you get is fender flares and a gate reinforcement bracket. A stock jeep already cones with brakes, suspension, gears and tires. 4.56 gears don't cost any more than 3.73 gears. The tires are probably a couple hundred dollars more but not 4k. Could you buy a stock jeep and upgrade all these things for 4k? Maybe not but everything you removed you could sell.
    Is it worth the 4k? That depends. Are you going to upgrade to 37s in the future or will you just leave it as it? Is definitely worth it for jeep. It cost them next to nothing because they just install different parts on the assembly line that are different but not necessarily more expensive. You're not getting 2 sets of tires, gears, brakes and suspension components... But you're paying for two sets. Jeep knows what it cost in parts and labor to upgrade all this stuff in the aftermarket and as long as they beat that price they will sell the Extreme recon package and make a killing doing it. In my opinion this is how a Wrangler Rubicon should be built to begin with. ;)

I do have a question and like to know your opinion. I'll be only going to my cabin once a month and I need a 4x4 during the wintertime. I definitely want a Rubicon, but 90 or 95 percent of the time will be city driving. Does it make since to have an extra set of wheels & tires for city driving. I then can always change back to the all-terrain tires for if and when I go back up to my cabin? Thank you and I'll be watching your channel.

    • @Circleofcycles2
      @Circleofcycles2  Před rokem

      It depends how much you want to spend and how much you drive total. If you don't drive a ton I think you would be fine with just the all terrains driving around the city, however if you drive a ton in the city it doesn't pay to wear down the specific all terrain tires for just commuting. You could get a cheap set of Sport wheels and tires for the city. It is actually really cheap to get OEM Wrangler Wheels. in fact I have a set of Sahara 18" Wheels for sale and I can't give them away for $100! It is crazy. So you would really only spend a lot of money on tires, but my bet would be you could get a take off set of wheels and tires off a sport for under $500. Maybe check with your local Jeep dealer they might have some just laying around or watch FB Marketplace. Yeah now that I think about it you should be able to get a cheap set of takeoff OEM wheels and tires. Just be aware of the Speedometer difference when you put smaller Tires on your Rubicon!
