Hi guys so this video has been de-monetised 🙄CZcams is a large part of my income so if you want to support please consider leaving a Super Thanks above ☝ or support me on Patreon here: www.patreon.com/luscent 💕
Special thanks to No body no crime. Dude was disintegrating after the first 5 songs. He really needed it.
🤣🤣🤣 the back half of the video would've been a puddle reacts to evermore lol
@@Luscent lmao puddles reacts to Evermore!!! I was genuinely concerned for your sanity. 🤣🤣 but seriously though, loved the video. Loved hearing your thoughts on it and everything. Cheers mate!!!
NOT DISINTEGRATING NO
LMAO thanks for making me laugh 😂😆
"I hope this isn't about her, otherwise we will be coming for Joe" WE WOULD INDEED
😂😂
Well
after the "singing to me now" in Marjorie you can hear her grandmother's vocals she was an opera singer and you hear her singing
its wonderful because she lists her grandmother in the credits for background vocals. what a wonderful thing, she now shares a song with her grandmother. its so devastating.
Oh my god that is so so beautiful
@@Luscent Marjorie makes me cry every time because my siblings betrayed our father's memory and legacy out of greed. To me that's the unpardonable sin.
Me: No way folklore can be topped.
Taylor: Hold my cardigan.
Taylor: plant my willow
pass me the champagne and meet me at coney island
The line "it wouldn't be for evermore" hit different
Others : She'll fix your heart that i broke..
Taylor : She'll patch up your tapestry that i shred....
Champagne problems-- he proposed, she said no, she left him.
Fyi, "William Bowery" (aka Joe) co-wrote champagne problems, coney island and evermore. He is also credited as the pianist on evermore .
Aw yay so cute!
@@Luscent I know! So cute to write depressing imma-go-kill-myself heartbreaking songs with your boyfriend 🥰🥰

I've watched so many reaction videos and listened to this album multiple times today alone. You think I'd be tired of it at this point, right? Well, nope.
SAMEEE. IT JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER WITH EVERY LISTEN EVERY REACTION
Same!
let's be honest, tolerate it is the most heartbreaking song taylor has ever written, I've never seen Dan this broken over one of her songs
*AMENDMENT* - Totally misread my friends message and have just realised Taylor's Grandma wasn't Dorothea but was actually MARJORY and omfg I'm crying all over again 😭Maybe it's a good thing I got it wrong I would've been inconsolable 😂
I forgive you but omg watching you try and connect the dots between Dorothea and Taylor’s nan .... 😂😂
Lolololol shush
This was sooo frustrating. I was SCREAMING at my phone!!! 😂😂 I honestly thought you would notice from the lyrics of marjorie
@@Kureabear that was actually hilarious 😂 when you said maybe he found her on facebook! I was like aww girl...
anyway i blame your friend lol
@@andresbecerra1183 I can attest that the friend was VERY clear in her message 😂 I blame the 6am wake up call
majorie made me bawl my eyes out. I lost my grandma 3 months ago and it was like Taylor took my thoughts and created a song. So beautiful ❤️
❤️ I hope you found some catharsis ❤️
@@Luscent I definitely did! She and I talk all the time.... she sends me signs! ❤️
Dorothea is the girl that went back home in tis the damn season and had a holiday fling with an old lover. It’s on Taylor’s prologue on evermore. She also said on the live youtube chat that Dorothea also went to the same school as Betty, James and Inez.
Ok nice!! I love that continuity it's like her own little world
As much as I love All Too Well, Tolerate It is now my favorite track 5. It hit home so hard after being with a guy for two years who I was more in love with than he was with me. I cry every single listen.
You deserve so much better
The first person I’ve seen react to Marjorie with the right amount of emotional attachment and tears! It’s so emotional and makes me cry everytime, it’s nice to see someone else appreciate it as much as I do
she wrote Happiness just last week i love her mind
Hi Mimi, how do you know that?
@@esmeraldochiodinineto3601 she answered questions before willow mv premiere on youtube and said and i quote: "Dorothea was written first and Happiness at last (just last week!!)"
Omg crazy!!
Its about abigails divorce
@@Plainejan possible. But I think about scott borchetta and her times at Big Machine. (Not scooter, but scott)
the husband killed Este because she must have confronted him about infidelity, so Taylor kills Este's husband.
I love the drama...
“Coney Island” references all of her exes:
Jake Gyllenhaal: “were you standing in the hall way with a big cake, happy birthday”
The moment I knew: “and they’re all standing around me singing, Happy Birthday to you” talking about him missing her birthday party
John Mayer: “did I paint your blue skies the darkest gray”
Dear John: “you paint me a blue sky then go back and turn it to rain”
Harry Styles: “and when I got into the accident”
Out of the woods: “remember when you hit the brakes too soon, twenty stitches in the hospital room.” Talking about an accident that her and him got into on a snowmobile.
Calvin Harris: “but when I walked up to the podium I think that I forgot to say your name.”
There’s not really a song to reference this specific moment, but Calvin Harris didn’t announce that Taylor Swift helped write “This is what you came for” and I’m pretty sure he won some kind of an award for that
Just saw this somewhere. Hope it helps. :')
Love this!!!
@@Luscent OMG!! I so love your reaction and cried with you throughout the whole video. Hahaha! Sending love from Philippines! ❤️🇵🇭
Aw I'm glad you liked it! Hello from the UK! I went to the Phillipenes in 2019 and thought it was absolutely beautiful 💕
your reaction to no body, no crime is everything. it immediately became one of my favorite songs omg it's so good. i need a music video now!!
Omg yes!! That would be amazing ahha
I love your reaction to the song evermore. I lost it when I realized she said the pain WOULDN’T be for evermore. Such a beautiful, hopeful lyric. ❤️
I KNOW absolutely devastating haha
Evermore is so 😭😭😭😭.... OMG I can't even pick a favorite 😭..
Your reactions are everything
Thanks for coming back every time!! 😭😭
The flip at the end of evermore hit me so hard too. Just sobs 🥺🤍
Ikrrrr
Why does no reactor ever hear the part that literally says este went missing?
Probs cos we're all too busy chatting over it 😂
She's the best. Years.from now she'll be up there with the Beatles, Elvis, MJ and the Stones. Great reaction vids. See her live if you can. I've seen her twice.
Ah I cannot wait to see her live (and hopefully in the rain 🌧️)
Think champagne problems is about a woman turning down a proposal for marriage and everyone saying she's crazy. Also recognizing that even though she hurt that person, staying would've hurt them more because she didn't feel the same. The part about someone else fixing their tapestry that she shred gets me every time 😢
HAPPINESS HAS ME SOBBING EVERYTIME
Gold Rush is about feeling jealous of someone you find very beautiful
willow is just so perfect and the entire album is perfect yet again i love it
The evermore song reaction is all i ever wanted to see, SUBSCRIBED!
🥰🥰🥰
She mentioned that gold rush is supposed to replicate slipping in and out of a train of thought, and I interpret it as seeing a beautiful stranger and creating an entire narrative for them in your head.
Also, Coney Island is a beach near New York City that has like rides, games, things like that.
Ok nice thanks!
WHY ARE YOU MAKING SENSE WITH THE DIRTY DRUMS IN closure?!!?! OH MY GOSH! YOU'RE SO GOOD!
Yay I’ve been waiting for your reaction all day! 🥰👏💖
❤️ I mentioned you by name in this one!! ❤️ (Btw in case anyone else is looking this is my Swiftie bestie 😉)
@@Luscent mentioned by name for the Dorothea info 🙈🥰
I KNOW IM SORRY
Your reaction is so beautiful! I loved going on this journey with you.
Aw thank you I'm glad you liked it!
going on a rampage of your Taylor videos now lol but tis the damn season... I felt the exact same way! The line that really got me was "and the heart I know I'm breaking is my own" gahhh I just love these sister albums. Thanks for another great video!
Glad you enjoyed the vid! Yeah tis the damn season is soooo heartbreaking that line with leave the warmest bed just ends me every time
I absolutely love how you analyze each songs omg your perspective is a delight!
There’s a rumor she’ll be dropping a third album, so this would be the first trilogy album series. I can’t with her; who gave her the right to wreck my heart like this!!!!!
Love your reactions, cried with you during Folklore and then Evermore. Love how you let the music transport you and you’re not afraid to show your emotions. Keep it up, you’re doing great!!!
Thank you!! Omg if she does that I might die 🤣
Funny you said you’d listen to them back to back ( folklore and evermore ). I went for a long walk and did that this past weekend. Truly a magical experience
Aw I love that think I might to for a forest walk and do just that when it stopped raining lol
Really really loved all of your reaction and lyrical analysis but I was especially anticipating your reaction with Tolerate It, and I wasn't disappointed 😃
I can't believe she's keeping us fed and still serving quality! ♥️
Aw thank you thanks for coming back again!! I know - she's working very hard!! I've been working on the same 6 songs all year I just keep on getting distracted 😅
this is so beautiful... your reactions are the best!!
I really enjoyed this reaction omg your emotions resonated with me. This is exactly how I felt listening to this album.
Aw I'm glad you got a lot out of it!!
the best ''tolerate it'' reaction.
*sobbing*
I think this is the best reaction from this album so far 🙂❤️

I also bawled like a baby on the song evermore lol
You truly have such great insight when listening to Taylor’s music. I love it! I’m
equally blown away by this album. It has slightly brighter, more hopeful tonal elements to it. I am here for it! Ivy, Willow, Marjorie, Long Story Short, Evermore, Cony Island are what stood out to me on first listen. But seriously they are all SO GOOD!!!
Aw thanks yeah I agree it's more optimistic in general! Almost like folklore was processing the bad stuff and evermore is the result of that process ✨
You know someone is a swiftie when after listening a track, a theory connecting to another song forms. Lol. Proud swiftie.
This reaction is great btw.
I'm officially a convert!! Literally anything about a car and I'm like JaKE Is ThAt yoU?!?
Love love love your reaction! So genuine and I also loved your interpretation to each songs (even though you struggled a bit on dorothea lol)
Aw thank you also lol plz don't come for my Swiftie bestie I was half asleep when I read her text ahhahaha
Hello again,
I’ve been going one by one through your reactions and some of your music and I just want to say that I love them!!! I definitely subscribed! You are so talented and so sensitive! You make me cry and laugh in all of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Aw thank you!!! 💕💕
awwwwe when you cried at the end of evermore I also teared up 😥
Here we go again.... lets cry some more....
Love it, thanks for sharing!
I HAVEN’T STARTED THE VIDEO YET BUT I’M REALLY EXCITED THANK YOU
In No Body, No Crime
I’m guessing Etsy confronted her husband about the affair, things go heated and He killed her hence why on the second verse she mentioned Etsy missing and the new tires on the husband’s car
She suspected the husband killed Etsy but since there’s no body, she can’t prove it
She just decided to kill him instead and frame the mistress with Etsy’s sister swearing the she had been with Taylor the time the husband has gone missing
Etsy lol (I don't know if that was autocorrect, but it's spelled Este)
your take is more confusing tbh
That's exactly what happened i think. I don't imagine any other story but this
@@kennethpatac341 it's exactly what happened. nothing confusing about it
Yeah that makes sense! I listened to it again today and I love how each verse is like a new chapter
I am a brand new sub as of today and I love love your energy and your videos and your accent is beautiful! Love to see another swiftie to watch!! 🧡💕💜
Aw thank you glad you're enjoying!!
I loved your reaction for this!!
Thank youuuyy
AH I am so excited you reacted to Evermore! I've cried a bunch, this album is gorgeous. Your reaction is so sweet and authentic, I just want to hug you tight!
Edit: Coney Island is a neighborhood in NYC/Brooklyn!
Your ‘tis the damn season reaction is on point
the lyrics about trying to find where everything went wrong HIT bc it felt like I've been feeling down for so long and I don't know why?? and u try to find a reason but sometimes there's no rational reason, and you're just down. it starts so ambient and slow, then a moment of fast stress and worrying and thinking but then u catch ur breath and that last moment of hope is just 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I think we've all been feeling it you're not alone! It's music like this that's so moving and can help you understand those kinds of feelings 💕
your amazing love your reaction
i think ivy is two girls who have husbands/boyfriends but they're secret lovers 🥺🥺 obviously there's other interpretations (some ppl think it's a dead wife watching her widowed husbands new girl) but I like the tender cottagecore vibes
I'm all in for anything cottagecore
Tis the damn season ❤😭
To leave the warmest bed I've ever known UGH 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I guess my Tay journey is similar to yours. I hadn’t listened to an album until Folklore although I had heard several of her songs and even went to the REP concert, still I hadn’t ever listened to her albums or sought out to listen to her music until folklore. Then, like you, I went back and listened to her old albums and now I’m stage 8 Swifty. I really loved Evermore.
I never thought an album would overtake REP, but folklore did and now Evermore too. You may not like REP, although I love it. It’s 100% autobiographical at the very worst moment in her life, she had hit rock bottom and was wounded and bitter. Still, at the same time she met someone, started dating, and was falling in love. So REP has an edge, but EVERY song is a love song telling the story of how they met, the beginning phase of their relationship. All but really 3-4 songs are edgy love songs that unless you listen to the lyrics, you may think it’s all angry and spilling tea, but it’s not. It’s an album about falling in love with her boyfriend, realizing she was in a rebound relationship with the wrong guy, getting out of it and going after the guy she really wants.
If you like folklore and evermore, they are now writing songs together! So, without REP there would be no folklore or evermore (or lover) because that tells the story of how it all began. If you like Long Story Short, that is the story of REP... long story short it was a real bad time. Walking in shoes until the heels would eventually break. Long Story Short it was the wrong guy. Past self.. he’s walking by, go walk in those shoes forever. It’s Long Story Short telling the REP album.
Well said!! 💕
Hello from Brasil, great reaction!
Okay so here's my take on Long Story Short
I think it sums up her 4 year journey since Kim Kardashian tried taking her down in 2016 ("I fell from the pedestal"), how directly after, she and Joe were both at the Met Gala in 2016 ("You passed right by, I was in an alley surrounded on all sides") but she ended up with Tom Hiddleston and had a whirlwind summer thing ("Clung to the nearest lips/it was the wrong guy").
I think the rear view thing might be referring to how after that drama, she disappeared for a year while starting to date Joe and now she no longer really posts as much about her own life where she used to share almost everything ("Missing me at the golden gates they once held the keys to")
THen she talks about how after Reputation, she's over the drama and fighting, telling her past self that all the pettiness is behind her. Basically she climbed back up and with Joe she has a much more stable ground.
Nice analysis!!
Incredible reaction!
Aw thank you!!
Oh my gosh I cried with you in tolerate it huhuhuhu this is my favourite song in evermore
fun fact- after filming the long pond sessions, Taylor, Aaron, and Jack drank a lot, and then Taylor wrote tis the damn season while DRUNK
been waiting for your reaction
🥰🥰
Your take on the rear view mirror reference is interesting! The way I originally interpreted it was that she looked better when she was in the past, as in he didn't feel as drawn to her until they'd broken up. But I like your interpretation! It's somehow more grown up, and like you, I really like seeing this more grown up version of Taylor because she seems so much happier as she's getting older. 😊
Thanks! Yeah I think because I'm at a similar stage in my life where I'm looking back at my twenties and how far I've come I relate that to the lyric
I love your Taylor vids
the fact that she wrote tis the damn season when she was drunk 😭😩✋🏼
Omgggg howwww?!?! What a genius
@@Luscent I don't even know 😩 apparently they were rehearsing for folklore and they had a few glasses of wine. Taylor then sang the song to Aaron the next morning 🤯
ps I just discovered your channel and I really enjoy your videos! they're so genuine and seeing someone actually take the time to listen and interpret her lyrics is😭😭 keep up the good work and I wish you all the best ( also excuse this literal essay)
relatableeee reaction omg
This album 👏👏👏
Got damn you Taylor. Fave track 5. All the songs veer on country with the songwriting but it's singer songwriter/indie/alt goodness.
I was so happy watching bawl with tolerate it hahaha but because I always do too 😍😭
😭😭😭
"This one's called Happiness" He said smiling
Me: lol
If you have never listened to any The National records I would highly recommend it! The instruments in this sound like a National album
My favorite human !!!!
If you mean me then 😊 if you mean Taylor then also 😊
I was sleeping on "Cowboy like me" and "'Tis the damn season", but now these two songs have been on repeat around here. Heard that 'Tis the damn season and Dorothea are connected. The first is about the girl's perspective and the second is about the guy's (but i like to think it's another girl) perspective. In the first song, Dorothea comes back to her home town (Tupelo-Mississippi, mentioned in Dorothea) for the holidays, while in the second song, the two of them are apart again. I like to think that Dorothea moved to Hollywood to try to make a living there because
1 (From the song Dorothea):
"You got shiny friends since you left town, a tiny screen's the only place I see you now"
And 2 (also from Dorothea):
"Oh, you'rе a queen sellin' dreams, sellin' make up in magazines. Oh, from you I'd buy anything"
This summed my reaction 😌
If you haven't listened to Bon Iver's music before, I HIGHLY suggest. It hits sensitive folks right in the feels - his music evokes a feeling of ethereal dissociation. It's perfectly beautiful and heartbreaking. His first album is one of his best, but they're all amazing.
I hope I ain't late for the party. Hahahaha. Love this reaction.
Never too late!
You should watch 2 videos. First, the lyric video the Marjorie which has home movies of of Taylor’ grandmother. She looks just like her. If you took the videos and pics and made them modern day, it looks just like Taylor. She was an opera singer who encouraged and inspired Taylor to pursue a singing career. And of course Taylor included her grandmother’s recordings into the Marjorie track and this is listed in the credits for background vocals. Interesting fact, a picture of a young Marjorie which looks exactly like Taylor, was Taylor’s first Instagram post in 2011. Watch this video first.
Next watch Wildest Dreams music video. Taylor’s character is named Marjorie Finn (after her grandmother) and her hair is dark like her grandmother’s. The entire character is inspired by her grandmother, and in many scenes she looks do much like those old pictures from the lyric video of Marjorie. It’s amazing.
Taylor said just yesterday in her interview with Apple that it was a difficult song to write, she often would get too emotional during writing it, and it seemed she was getting emotional talking about it. She said that her mom often tells her that Taylor is just like her, that she did something or said something that was just like her grandmother. So watch the lyric video and then watch Wildest Dreams.
If you don't get emotional on the tribute to her grandmother somethings wrong.
gold rush is about not wanting fight for the person you are in love because they're so perfect tat everybody is strugling to have them, like if they were seeking for gold in the Gold Rush
Gold Rush has really grown on me actually it's in my top 3 defo
I’m sure you know this now, but Marjorie is her grandmother. Dorothea is a classmate of James and Betty. 😊 I love this reaction!
P.S. Also, I believe Coney Island is the other perspective of Tolerate It.
So I think Gold Rush is about her loving this guy that everyone else loves, but she doesn’t want the competition. She’s saying she thinks he’s so special and amazing, but everyone else feels that way too and she hates that because she wants him all to herself.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope we can hear the music that you listened to. So we know which part of the lyrics that made you cry ❤️
Oh no, you went INTO Tolerate It already crying? You are very brave, sir.
🤣 ikr
Do you have Disney +? I’d love to see a reaction to the Long Pond Studio session of Folklore. It’s awesome getting her to explain a little bit of what each song is about before she performs them live. Gives more context, and it’s amazing. I really hope they do one for Evermore.
czcams.com/video/P7nlpxfU50I/video.html 😘
Oh yay!! Okay going now. 🥰
@@Luscent I don’t know how I missed that last night when I found you 🤣
WATCH THE LYRIC VIDEOS SO YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THE STORIES.
Marjorie always makes me cry
illicit affairs is the vision of the misstress, and ivy is the version of the person who is married and has the person of illicit affairs as a misstress
Oh yeah I can see that!
Hope you'll create a "truth behind evermore" video like you did with folklore..
I'd love to though I might not find the time now I'm back at work full time 😭
❤️
Gold rush is about Joe. Like the song Gorgeous in the reputation
