  • @GolLeeMe

These vehicles have a place, and those who can afford them will most likely buy in. A lot of tech and serious levels of quality materials by the looks of it. I had hoped MG might try a smaller version first (say MG3 size) with a 40kWh battery pack for urban use, as thats where the immediate future seems to be taking us. Where are the budget/bargain EVs? It seems that to be profitable - go large, IMO. The clock is ticking for disrupters.
I like the Nio battery swapping capability, and I am assuming this is where SAIC might have an agreement to use those facilities and swapping capability. Every Vid I have seen would suggest it takes about 8-10 minutes to swap out a battery. So, perhaps they have speed up the system somewhat.

Highly unlikely to build in the UK, thanks to Brexit.
There's a CATL battery plant being built in Hungary IIRC, and an IM/MG plant would almost certainly be built somewhere like that.
Considering the instability in Eastern Europe as a result of Putin being a grade 1 turd, I would expect any building work to be on the back burner until that is resolved, or maybe build it somewhere far enough away from Ukraine for that not to be a problem. Moldova perhaps? Maybe Albania? The probles with such a move would be that those countries hardly have any of the infrastucture necessary for automaking.

I'd be very surprised if they can sell the L9 for that sort of money, more likely closer to 70K-80K.
Lovely to see you literally speechless.
That L6 would be very tempting at that price, pity it's not a hatchback.
I know that the LS6 is a hatch, but it's also a damned SUVnd I simply refuse to go that route.
I see that there's still no confirmation of an estate MG4, though it is reputedly going to be a replacement for the current MG5. I'm torn between the estate 4 (reasonably priced) and an MG 9 or even im L6. If the L6 was a hatch, t'd be a no-brainer. Ijust do not understand why everybody who wants to produce a competitor for the model 3 has to produce a saloon, not a hatch, it's baffling.
Give me model 3 that is a hatch and nothing to do with Elon Musk, and you've got a sale, currently the only one that does it is the iD5(?), and that is no competition for a model 3 IMO.

Tesla (or rather Elon Musk) have a very, very long history of promising what the audience want to hear, and then "launching" shockingly late, and not going into production for even longer. The CyberTruck was "Launched" in 2017 (I believe) and they only started deliveries this year, and even then the prices are way, way more than they were originally quoting, and much of the hype surrounding the specs on it was quietly forgotten.

@@ecoflex You're the fool then, not the people buying Chinese EVs. Just because the UK economy has been virtually shut down by the tone deaf government doesn't mean that other markets are in a similar situation.
I don't live in the UK, but in the EU and have seen absolutely NO evidence of Chinese cars having no resale value.
I think that you are confusing local trends (UK) for general trends (residuals across the board).
I often wish that residents of the UK could open their eyes to how dreadful their country has become, then I realise that the sunlit uplands and rainbow-farting unicorns were very real objectives for 52% of the population of the UK, so that's another impossible pipe dream.

Possibly, but China is making Putin pay through the nose for every weapon he buys. And Putin running through his foreign exchange funds is precisely what Ukraine needs.

No. They bought the badge from Rover's bankruptcy sale. That's all. The designs have nothing to do with Rover.

They all use Christopher Edward Bangle inventions, made with EJFJ Corporation PSC... Rover was not alone, BMW Group did help them a lot, but they were hacked by others brands... Chinese had to buy them to make them exist better...

i ordered yesterday Opel Mokka e LOADED brand new for 19900 euros in Croatia after government subsidy. I was thinking MG4 but where do i buy a replacement windshield or light or bumper? MG is new brand and there are no second hand cars or parts or service support. I will never pay more for less, mg offers less and cars do look nice but just 2 weeks ago infront of local Lidl shop a woman in brand new ZS cant close rear doors because something went kuku and she had a kid in child seats annd both doors cant be shut. woman stuck with working car on parking because of what kind of problem? did anyone ever had something like that on any car model, brand? rear doors just refuse to latch and close!? and that is just marginally cheaper than legacy auto makers with service networks and millions of previous customers? mg should get real, lower prices literally about 25% and then people will "risk". just when KIA or Hyundai came, they GAVE MORE fur MUCH LESS money than competition, people tried, like it and now they are legacy car brands. MG is just an chinese "experiment" perhaps they shut down in 6 months, who knows!? any guarantee they will not shut down in 6 months?

0-60 in 3 something seconds , MENTAL , boy racer dreams . Seems each chinese brand is having a go at a tesla like challenger . Just like levis jeans others eventually came along and produced a decent jean for a third to a half less. Everyone remembers the famous jean brand but when was the last time you went out to buy a pair of levis , just saying
