The number one thing that dates your car is the infotainment system. Today, we upgrade this 2016 camry with all the bells and whistles making it better than a 2020 camry model!
It's super easy to do, and anyone can do it. No shop required! Everything is plug and play. What's also great is it has bluetooth, gps, wi-fi and tpms support!

My radio went out on my 2017 Camry looks like this is a worth while upgrade i was thinking about getting a used oem unit but they want just as much money as for this thanks guys for making this video real helpful keep up the good work
Thanks, John! This video made me decide on the version made to fit my Toyota Highlander. Arrived yesterday and I just installed it. Perfect factory look, huge screen and CarPlay!
Glad my videos helped !
Hey Glenn, for the android auto and carplay, did you need to buy USB carplay, or you didn't have to?
Hi Yassine, I bought this version specific to the Toyota Highlander (pasting link below). Everything needed was in the box. I haven’t tried AndroidAuto, but Apple CarPlay works wired or wireless. The finished look is really impressive and steering wheel controls and backup camera work. You do use a new microphone and satellite nav antenna (included) instead of the original for some reason. My experience with the CarPlay is that sometimes it takes a while to connect and other times it connects right away, but once connected it is very responsive!

When I connect with the USB, I’m using the original USB port.
Wireless CarPlay with PX6 (must disable for screen mirroring, but wireless units available for USB plug-in). Amazon carries these.
Bought this unit for my 2015 Camry and it's just perfect. Everything works great and it's so very fast. Even my Bluetooth connects faster than anything I've ever used. Also I saw someone complained that their Carplay takes so long to connect each time, not in my unit. Both Carplay and Android Auto whether wireless or wired work flawlessly. Thanks Daisata.
Where did you buy it?
Following
did you figure out to move the metal brackets so the new unit is actually held in by the 10mm>
Is that plug and play and work on hybrid car
After owning it for awhile have you had any issues and how is the radio reception? Is it louder then factory stereo? Does it still show radio station in instrument cluster above steering wheel? I’m looking to put this same one in my wife’s 2015 Toyota Camry XSE.
Just finished installing mine! I followed this guide step by step and voila!!!! I was able to keep all my functions and it even added new ones!!!!!! Thank you so much
Will you still able to use steering wheel control with this unit?
@@Mynguyen.24 Yes
Will back up camera still work?
@@markfagaragan1179 Yes. Just make sure you connect the RCA cable labeled CAM VIN
Does it has apple car play
just installed mine, and it seems to work great. The latest unit has swapped locations of GPS and Wi-Fi, same connector so be sure to read before you connect. Even though the hardware label on top of the unit says that the auxiliary mic port is in the back, it is not. there is a female connector in the wiring harness. I think it would make sense to plug everything into their ports in case you need to access that later including an HDMI cable, even if you have only the factory backup camera. This video is what Dasaita references in their one sheet in the box. It's awesome that they have these slackers encouraging us slackers by doing the job with their hands and a couple of tools in their pajama pants. All the software was up to date and the unit seems to be working fine. Don't be afraid, you can do this. All the connectors truly are a different size, so it's difficult to mess it up if you're careful. pay attention to the after sale email from the company, and if you feel like getting enough information on the teardown before installation, there are plenty of CZcams videos that show you exactly where all the bolts and screws are and how to get the old radio out. I did not buy into the abandoning of the brackets that held the old radio, so I re-installed the bracket on the air conditioning unit and then measured the distance from one hole to another and drilled a new hole in the bracket to match the new unit. I believe it's much more stable and it has to do with the integrity of the dash for vibration. Plus the air conditioning unit even after I swapped the clips could easily fall out of the new head unit. SET UP TIP: go into the navigation settings and change the speed limit warning. unless you enjoy having a woman yell at you that you are going over the speed limit every time you slip past it .1 mph. lol.
UPDATE: finally figured out that the speed limit warning is coming from the IGo primo app. look under settings, and tap on the three horizontal lines with a down arrow on the left side of the icon. This is called skin and you'll find warnings there.
Hey, where to connect the other end of the USB cable in order to use the factory usb port (the one under the ac controller)?
within the wiring harness there is a connector for that USB port. be sure to connect up the double USB harness into one of the open ports on your new unit. It will give you three USB connections to the new head unit
Thanks. I figured it out eventually
Thank you for this video, you sold me on it. I purchased it for my 2017 camry
enjoy!
Does this work for 2017 Camry SE?
does the back up camera work with it?
Yes
Yes but it's a yellow video cable labeled *cam vin* or something lose to that.
Great video brother. Big fan of your work. I'm ordering my head unit on Friday. Your videos help me allot. I'm getting the rotating double din . 👍🏽👍🏽
That's my favorite one this year!
@@JohnNguyenVincent I’m maryland you know anyone out here shows into it ?
@@JohnNguyenVincent so 2 years later, how is this head unit now?
Very nice my wifes car screen stopped working imna get one subbed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AWESOME... been waiting for this. Purchased several months ago. Haven't installed yet.
did you ever install?
Thanks for the video and wich one do you feel is best Carbar 12.8" or This new Daisata ?
The center console with shift boot, put in neutral with e-brake engaged and turn piece Horizontal, no problem. You might have to even put it in neutral or shifting gear. Replaced touch screen once, think I'm gonna upgrade now.
Great job guys
The wire at the beginning that you first unplugged is the sensor for the auto headlights. Cover it up and watch the lights turn on. And some higher end models did have a tweeter there.
Yes, with JBL systems only.
haha i had to drive my mom somewhere mid install and noticed my auto wasnt working and it was because i forgot about that trim
@@noTTYLer97 typically, I don't trust the "auto" feature anyway so I hit the switch. Happens when you grow up with old cars as a daily until you get a new car LoL.
@@JackEnHoff247 random question since i noticed it...i see you have a phole mount on your tinted windshield...wont that fuck up the film if the mount falls off or u remove it?
@@noTTYLer97 sorry, fell asleep LoL. But no. I never had that problem. But my tint is not that cheap stuff from Walmart either tho (not knocking it, of course). My tint is the ceramic tint. But my new windshield is not tinted anymore. One day I might have gotten into a heated argument and needed to hit something and ended up palm slapping the crap out of my windshield LoL. I'm debating on tinting this new windshield.
nice instruction video. thanks!
The shift knob boot you have to pulled down before start moving the shift knob in that way when you start moving the shift knob to remove it the boot doesn’t move together with the shift knob
What was the wire you had to plug in for the camera to work?
Where did you purchase the wrap for the steering wheel and the wood trim ?
Any experience running a amplifier for a subwoofer?
Dasaita worth it's money. You pay little more but then you won't have to return this head unit back.
The basic Toyota Entunes 2.0 (which you have) has a 6" inch screen while the Plus & Premium versions have a 7" inch screen. It's easier to remove on the Corolla because all you have to do is take off the plastic piece surrounding the head unit
Did you buy it as a whole kit or did you have to buy those wiring accessories seperately? I have the base 2013 toyota camry L.
We’re you able to still have the compass, speed limits, and road names show up on the small screen on the dash as well as the music tab showing anything?
Honda CRV 2008 Android auto and apple play good system☮️
Couple of quick questions. Which one did you purchase as there's several options as far as ram and gb size and pricing. And Any update on how the unit has been doing ever since? Any lags or "boot up" or freezing or connecting problems ?
How’s the 1 year reliability? Still work like new?
Nice video!! Love this set up. Will i still retain my steering wheel controls after installing this unit?
They work, if a bit unexpectedly. For some reason, it reads the left directional pad differently and if memory serves, something is inaccessible. Tried correcting it but couldn't. Otherwise okay. Wasn't that big a deal to me.
@@anonymousinc6330 cool thanks for the feedback!
Do you know if this is compatible with the newly updated CZcams Music? (Formally Google Play)
I'm looking for a good head unit for my 18 Crosstrek... Any recommendations?
What product do you recomend for for a 2012 Chrysler 300? I want to put a screen on my car but can't find a decent screen. Thanks in advance.
I bought a dasaita 10.0 it has the same cables that you show in the video... my question is that I put the retro camera video cable and the image came out but the radio and the audio are cut off... is that normal when you do reverse? did the same thing happen to you too? or how did you install it?
Is the WiFi adapter and antenna included when purchasing this product?
@John Nguyen on the 12.8 inch android head unit, the hdmi is it in it out?
Love ur content... Great work... Looking for something for my lexus ls460... But i dont see one..? Can u assist.. ur very knowledgeable.
Search on Amazon to see if Dasaita makes one for your car. I'm sure they do, even if it may be a universal-fit double-DIN.
My car has navigation and microphone. Can I use existing GPS antena and microphone or use which come with this unit?
Hey John, I've also had USB-TY1 cable and I can't figure out what it's for. It got male USB type A on the end and I just pulled it to the central console but it's too short tbh for anything. What is this cable for and where it should be hooked up ? Thank you
Yoooo John 🤘
hey spence
Two years later, do you still like it?
The shifter sleeve(?) is clipped to the knob just need to pull it down and then knob can be removed.
Installing one soon in my SE. So you just pull the boot down and you can pull the clip out to remove the knob, is that how that works?
@@anonymousinc6330 yeah so you just grab the plastic portion of the boot just below the knob and pull until it comes off. Then the knob unscrews.
Is this the same wiring for the 2018 Camry or do we need a different harness ?
Did you need to ground it ?
I installed mine and didn’t ground it and it works fine
There r options on the stock stereo i.e. the loudness of the beep when locking n unlock the car with the key remote.
Does it still have those settings?
Hi John, I have a 2017 Toyota iM hatchback. And I got the universal 2 Din 10.2 Inches head Unit for my car. And I have Chosen the Toyota Harness. However, for my OEM back-up camera, the harness comes with a 20 pin connector on the head unit end, while my car has 24 pin, Which same as this 2016 Camry. Wondering is anywhere I can find connectors like that to wire them up? or If not, Can I cut the wire and solder on? what are those 4 wires from the car? and 3 wires from the connector?
Thanks in advance for the answer!!
Can you suggest an oem dasaita radio for a 2015 Nissan Rogue for me??
Great vid. Bought it for my Camry, Installed it. The only thing that i cannot get to work is the backup camera nor the steering wheel call button. going to keep at it....thanks any Ideas on what to try...
can you make suggestion for a 3rd gen tacoma 2016-18.
How do you connect the side brackets to the head unit? I guess that part of video was missing?

My usb port doesn't seem to work anymore. I was initially using one of the double usb plugs connecting to the white plug but that wasn't working. Then I switched to the purple single usb plug but that still isn't working. Any ideas?

Hey man do you know how to fix the airbag light. When I plugged this new stereo in, all works except my airbag light turned on. I have a car factory cable left unplugged (small grey adapter/connector/whatever) and it doesn’t fit to any of the sockets in the new stereo? Help!
Does it show the tire pressure?
i also ordered a SMA Male Vehicle Antenna Adapter Cable to connect the GPS to existing sharks fin antenna.

@@josephnewman7781 i threw it in my 17 LE so go for it. my main gripe is that the metal bracket with the 4 10mms doesnt seem to transfer so the unit is effectively held by only the other trim being in front of it and the small clips
2 questions. I have a 2017 XSE with JBL
1. Can this be done with the JBL unit in my car?
2. Does the backup camera work with this?
Thank you and I love your vid!
If the car has a backup camera, will this radio connect to it?
Hey John, Thanks for the video. The tweeters and center speakers work ?
Can you give us the place where to install in LA area, or give us more info.
Will the car settings be accessible with this radio too ? Factory radio shows rh setting for tire pressure lighting timer controls etc.

Man, I've been going back and forth on buying this or not. I hear the one issue with Apple Carplay is it's more like it's screen mirroring rather than true apple car play? So like if I lock my phone, or switch between apps on my phone, the Apple carplay will do the same? I wish I could just find something simple that'd give me Carplay, lol.
Would this work on a Camry 2012? I have the v6
Will it fit in 2007 Infiniti m35x?
does it have backup camera?
With my factory unit I can permanently disable day time running lights and control how loud the arm and disarm beeps are (plus a few other things).... Can I do that with this aftermarket unit too? 2015 Camry se

Just got the newest version of this for 2017 Camry and we don’t see a remote wire….any answers?
What about on a Camry hybrid? No battery display anymore?
Why does some units for the 2015-2017, either have the Daisaita name and others doesn’t? I like it without.
Is there any way I can upgrade to a newer version android ,mine running automotive 10
Hey bro is there an updated version????
I was thinking on getting the wireless version for my Camry 2016 also.. great video but one thing you never check out the sound quality on this head unit besides the radio??
Sounds great even with factory speakers, although some tweaking of the EQ and amplifier settings is needed for best results.
Is it work for 2014 Camry SE?
Hi guys,
So it does play youtube videos just like on your phone?
Does the feature that controls the volume next to the steering wheel still works on the stereo if replaced?
Yup, you can still use your steering wheel controls
My aftermarket headunit started smoking after install seems like improper cable install. Worked fine but returned it. Might make your fuse go bad happened to me.
Hey man how can i retain my OEM USB and AUX with a aftermarket radio
Hello John,
I just install Dasaita max 6 with wireless CarPlay. Bluetooth keep unconnected so I reset factory settings. It ended up inactivated the zlink apps and asking authorization code . You have any idea about this.
Thank you.
I figure it out. There’s a barcode that you need to read. I download barcode scanner and read all letters and numerical no. Just disregard all asterisk, comma, etc.
Ill pay you really good money to install the unit in my camry
Hi,
My car already has OEM TPMS sensors.
Do I have to buy add on for TPMS or it comes with the unit in link below the video?
no, just use your cars TPMS on "small screen"
How is the functions for the original SETUP Button accessed? Where the settings to change display color, door lock options, light options, etc.
it's in an app called car settings. You can set a lot more parameters than oems from the looks of it.
Do all the steering wheel functions work as designed after this swap?
Yeah
Unfortunately, Toyota is not updating/adding Android Auto to older models prior to 2018, so they are stuck with the outdated Entunes 2.0. The problem is that Toyota didn't design the system for OTA updates. On Mazda, they can get OTA updates and so they offered Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade on 2014-2018 models
So will the Toyota 2019 models get android auto?
@@MrRyan718 They should. Toyota is very slow rolling it out
@@davinp2018 was technologically the stone age. LED headlights practically didn't exist except for some higher trims with conventional cars and of course German cars. Carplay and Android Auto also didn't exist with lower trim vehicles. I also believe that's when the first advanced iphone came out- the iPhone X (iphone 10)

I am looking to get one of these and have been watching a lot of videos. I have a 2012 Toyota Camry and it looks like the brackets don’t fit on this unit....is that a big problem?
There is a version of this specific to the 2012-2014 model. You can find it on Amazon. The trim plate is different from the 15-17 because of the climate controls.
