- The Highest Elevation Difference On A Metro Line In The World - Oslo's Holmenkollen Line.
A trip on Oslo Metro Line 1 from Stortinget to Frognerseteren. We get out at Holmenkollen in deep snow to have a look at the Winter Olymics Ski Resort and Holmenkollbakken Ski Jump.

Pity you did not bring skies. Did enjoy your video. As a norwegian I'm also more familiar with the London Tube.
Thank you for joining me!

Those platforms are for trains switching directions. There is no connection between 2 units coupled together so the driver has to exit 1 unit and enter the other.
They are mostly used during special events at Holmenkollen.
Thank you for watching and the info on the platfroms.
Marvellous place Oslo is. Never been to Oslo but I would love to go there.
Thank you for watching! Oslo is worth a visit.
Great to see and a bit different up there when visited last September
Thank you for watching! I'd love to see it in the Summer.
12:50 the platform at holmenkollen is longer because sometimes they drive two-set trains up there for ski festivals, directly from majorstuen. Normally though, the back doors are just configured to not open across all the stations, i believe it's just a switch the driver has to press, so it's easier and safer if they don't need to remember to switch it off at holmenkollen and then back on at the next station
Thank you for watching and the info. That makes sense about running 6 car trains to Holmenkollen.
That was incredible Henry, fascinating to see, thanks! (Dave).
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
@@HenrysAdventures Your very welcome.
These trains have the type designation MX3000, so the number 3123 for example means the 3000 series, car number 1 and train set number 23. There are a total of 115 3-car sets.
Thank you for watching and the information.
very nice video. yes, the metro in Oslo is mostly above ground.
Thank you for watching!
@@HenrysAdventures I like your videos. If you take line 3 to Kolsås. You can take both the tram and metro from Jar and Bekkestua stations. At Bekkestua, theres a British Iceland grocery store too...
@@MichalBergseth-AmitopiaTV Thank you! I did do the tramline to Jar and Bekkestua but it was dark by then so I didn't make a video. I do hope to visit again in the future.
