The 1/10 scale Losi Baja Rey 4WD desert truck remains one of a kind, the only RC vehicle platform of its size with a true-scale suspension and chassis setup. The closer you look, the more details you find. When you see it in action, it’s easy to imagine living out your own wildest desert racing dreams.
Losi first released the Baja Rey in 2016. It quickly earned raves for incredible handling, speed, and overall performance. A new Baja Rey body style was introduced a few years later, but the platform itself proved so successful that it was unchanged - until now. For 2023, the Baja Rey not only gets another body update but also significant design improvements underneath. The Baja Rey 2.0 is an even better Baja beast, performing like a champion on all types of desert terrain from trails to sand washes.
Like the previous version, the foundation of the Baja Rey 2.0 remains its strong 3mm aluminum chassis plate with a 2.5mm upper deck. Whether you’re hitting the whoops, getting huge air, or just running wide open, the chassis keeps asking for more. From there, the platform now goes to the next level with new front gear box and rear axle designs, improved upper front arms and 4-link bars, an additional dampening shock, and more. Together, the changes mean easier maintenance, more tuning ability, and even greater strength and durability in critical areas.
As always, Losi has worked closely with Baja’s best brands to bring you the most scale RC desert truck possible. Take the new, officially licensed 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R body, for example. The Method Ford Raptor Baja Rey 2.0 captures the full-size truck’s aggressive styling with molded details that include the front grille, hood vent, fire extinguishers, driver helmets, interior, and more. The officially licensed BFGoodrich KR3 tires are mounted on officially licensed Method 101 wheels. And the dual spare tires are fully functional!
With LED lighting that includes a seven light pod system, Raptor grille lights, and a rear red LED light strip, the Losi Method Ford Raptor Baja Rey 2.0 wants to keep playing even after the desert sun sets. You can get started almost immediately, because it’s ready-to-run with a feature-packed Spektrum Smart DX3 radio system and brushless power system that can handle 2S or 3S LiPo batteries (not included) - for the power to fly across the desert at speeds of up to 50+ mph!

Just picked mine up a couple days ago, went from arrma truggies and traxxas slash to this and i gotta say might be my new favorite truck. Its a blast to play with and handled everything i could throw at it and kept going, only complaint so far is the amount of skrews for the body and the front orange led lights came unwired my first run if the truck. My first losi and i will be back for more.

@zdriven7 i got mine at a local hobby shop in Washington it was the only one they had and i have not been able to find more, would like to get the black one as well.
@@jmapalmer94 Yeah they are nowhere o line aside from a pre order at summit of all places and none of our local shops have them either. I didn’t even hear a release date. Either they did a very small first run or someone dropped the ball somewhere.

Fantastic trucks. Had the v1 for a long time. Wish i never got rid of it. I see it still has the floppy rear cage. Other than that, very scale and fun to drive trucks 👍👍

Joshm7801, i'm assuming this product and most of the others Losi creates and sells lean towards the scale side of things, whereas the other companies you mentioned design their products for brain-dead bashing. It's a matter of preference, scale OFFROAD short course trucks aren't meant for abuse of skate park ramps and abusive runs on concrete surfaces. You watch too much Kevin Talbot
Ive driven my baja rey fairly hard and havent had any real issues over the last few years. what are you doing to the hammer rey?

@@LosiRacing id love a hammer rey 2.0. The hammer rey is my favorite after some minor tuning. Or maybe a different U4 rey modeled after the bronco. Id buy in a heart beat.
The rear cage flex is the only thing that I'm not sure about. Definitely takes away from the looks and realism.

@@LosiRacing I'd like to see a few more body styles for the 5ive-T. As for parts, make a new baja style light kit and a baja chassis conversion. I love my 5ive-T but unless I buy a different brand I don't have much room for experimentation with body designs or chassis options.
If you want to go full Neanderthal then Losi may not be your car of choice. They are scale race cars not wall hitting brutes.They will break at times. Horizon has plenty of bashers under their umbrella. Glad they let Losi be thier " race inspired" designers and builders.

For what we pay for these vehicles, the bodies should be more durable. It seems like everything that's designed and made for this hobby is designing and made cheaply so that it breaks really quick and you have to start going in your pocket to repair it this is really beginning to be unacceptable

Losi is the most unreliable brand on the market. They simply stop supplying spare parts of cars that are still sold new.
Yeap.... I bought a Hammer Rey just a few months ago. The centre diff was leaking right out of the box so I thought I'd give it an overhaul (not that you should have to on a brand new £500 rig). You can not get the diff service pack anywhere in the WORLD! I have friends in the US who could get one and bring it over for me but everywhere is permanently out of stock 😡 How can such a prominent manufacturer have key spares as discontinued on current models?
Despite that, I still love the looks of this Heatwave Baja Rey 2.0 and would buy it if I could, but Losi are apparently not going to sell it to British customers. They may as well just say F*** You!
I cannot believe after the absolutely dumpster fire pos hammer Rey you are still using that platform. I am a losi fan and can say for certain this platform is garbage. Skip this and get an arrma or associated short course truck. They are better.

@@LosiRacing please don’t act like you don’t know. This is universally known as the worst production scale truck ever made. It handles like crap and it’s overall design is just awful. There are 28484 screws to remove to do any major repairs or service and the suspension geometry is garbage. I have owned and raced many losi vehicles and this was the worst of all of them by a long shot. I’m ignoring the 3XLe in this list because had you put proper 1/8 diffs in there with a motor/esc that could handle its size, that would have been the hands down the best monster truck ever made. But instead you put on a trick body, slapped some cheap electronics in it and sent it out. Those pot metal diffs would never have made it through testing so you knew it was crap and sent it out anyways. Same with the hammer rey. You knew and did it anyways. You are Losi and myself and everyone expects better from you and your team. This is the same thing as a hammer rey with a new body on it. If you’re going to do it, use a proven chassis and do it that way or spend the time like you did with the Dirtbike and make it right. Otherwise you’re just over priced Chinese trash with a legendary name you’re going to burn along the way with short cuts.
