Hey Max, one question: can you make a video or explain how Zach Hill plays so fast while doing the majority of the movement only in his wrist? Like, kind of explaining his technique. I am in high school and don't have a lot of free time because I'm studying an engineering career (it's because it is a special high school here in my country; I don't know if there is something like that in yours). Due to the lack of time, I lost the love for some hobbies I used to have, and I would love to learn to play like Zach. These last years have been boring because of the lack of time, and I want to fall in love with something to do, which I already did with Zach's music. But it isn't enough for me. I would like to recreate what he does in my own kind of style. I know I have a long way to even scratch the 10,000 hours, so I hope you can kind of help me get started.

      Elcirck,
I can try and do that. An 'episode 4' is likely to happen before long. We don't quite have that here in the US, but I think I understand where you're coming from. As long as you think engineering is suitable long term for you, stick to it. You have to stack hours while working (typically).
I've felt the same about Zach's playing. Just keeping playing when you can and trust your gut. Ultimately (at least how I view drums) you want such fluency that you can literally 'talk' through the kit. Look into Max Roach if you haven't. He is a foundational example of learning that ability.
      Godspeed~ don't give up!
