This is great. I have Asian hooded lids and always struggle. These uncut videos are perfect, please never stop doing this content. Thank you ❤
love to see you blend the shadow in "real time", without any cuts!!! I always love your Uncut videos, but this one also helped me A LOT! thank you
Back to basics❤
Love this technique! And love the Uncut with KJHs! Thanks for doing them!
My heart is full of joy every time you post a video!. In my bed , with my iPad, cup of tea , Tim Tams and Katie! Happiness !😍😁from Australia.
This is SO SO helpful for my 45 yr old now-hooded lids! Thank you our makeup queen, Katie 👑 ❤
I would LOVE more hooded eye content, especially more fun/graphic/creative styles!
I have watched so many lengthy tutorials on applying eye shadow to hooded eyes and this is by far the best. Thank you Katie! You’re the best! Your tutorials are so much easier to follow and actually user friendly for someone like me who isn’t a makeup artist. I do have a couple questions for you. What are your thoughts on using lighter eye shadows under the brow bone or on the corner of the eye as I’ve seen sometimes? Would you recommend using only matte eye shadows on hooded eyes? What are your thoughts on using cream or liquid eye shadows on hooded eyes?
I didn’t realise how versatile one colour can be. I need to switch up my use of brushes too!
I always put a little bronzer (if I am not wearing any other eye makeup or just a one and done shinmer) slightly above my crease to push back my hood ever so slightly. I will try your technique!!
Your selfie face brow raise trick is fierce! Thank you for this video - I took notes! Keeping contrast in mind is really helpful.
More please!!! 😊
I love this lesson. I have always had a hooded eyes, but they are getting much more predominant as I age. I love looking at photos of actresses with hooded eyes, Sarah, Jessica Parker, Jennifer, Lawrence, Blake lively come to mind. is subtle or dramatic they always do something to emphasize the hood. Witch makes their eyes pop and look so sexy.
Thank you girl 🥹
This is what I have been looking for will try this thank you so much ❤❤❤❤ I have heavy hoods this makes so much sense now
Standing ovation. Best tutorial ever
This is super helpful, thank you 🙌🏻
Great video thank you so much love your videos 💜🌻✌🏻
Everything looks good on you Katie. For some reason I can’t work out why any eyeshadow above my crease looks awful.
what tends to happen to me after a few hours (and no matter how long-wearing the eyeshadow, if it's a long-wear liner smudged, or topped with a shadow, just a powder shadow, a cream shadow, primer, no primer, whatever...) is that the drama at the outer corner of the lashline gets imprinted on the lid (because my eyes are so hooded that the upper lid skin touches the lashline). which is sort of ok with the eye open, but looks very messy when I look down (basically there is a line imprinted on my lid, because only the most intense shadow gets transferred there, even if the lashline is blended). so I have to precipitate it almost and create a similar line up there, only blended, so that it doesn't look so off. sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't, depending on the longevity of the products (sometimes I still get a harsh line imprint after some time). it's a struggle...
Loving this series. X
Loved this, this is the content that i love x
Loved this one!!!
You are a LEGEND ❤
❤❤ this!
Perfectly explained!
SO thrilled you’re doing this these longer videos!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge I enjoyed this video
Thank you for not phoning it in, you amazing talented angel. I once saw a very talented professional makeup artist put out a video where they said people with hooded eyes should avoid shimmer, glitter, cut creases etc and should just go for an all over, one colour wash. It may be true, but as a hooded eyed person, I love the creativity of makeup. This video makes me want to play and inspires me to try different techniques. Thank you, Katie. x
I needed this video. Ty !!!!
This was a fantastic lesson thank youn❤
Love it!
Thank you! I'm not so great with shadows. Do you have any tips for liner for heavily hooded lids?
This is extremely helpful. I am quite eyeshadow shy but really want to do my own wedding makeup and get some nice definition going. Even when I think I'm wearing a full face, I end up looking barefaced in photos because I never get how to define my eye shape properly. I'm trying your tutorial right now!
OK i immediately failed. But i will keep trying!
Thank you for this!!!
always love hooded eye looks & tips 🫶
Great video, thank you.
Really insightful vid . Your uncut vids are my fave on CZcams
Oh, you are so beautiful!
I love you for this
Really helpful. ❤
Thank youuuuuu 😊
This is AWESOME! I just did it in the bathroom and am amazed! Saved to favorites to recreate! I used the Tarte “In Bloom” pallet and it’s 🤌🏼🤌🏼
Hi Katie I do ha e slightly hooded eyes uggg
I love the Vieve essentials palette and you have used it in such a lovely way Katie ! Also what ? You can’t hear us ? lol 😂 thanks this was a great vlog entry ! Xx
I have horrible hooded eyes. I appreciate this as I love colour and I want to use my eye shadows without looking like a clown. Thank you so much ❤❤
Hi dear katie please recreate the makeup look you did for lily aldridge😍❤
Katie do you have an idea if they are restocking your full set of brushes?
Love this!! You look beautiful! ❤ what lipstick and blush are you wearing? GORGEOUS KJH! 😊
Love from 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
Great tutorial once again! Thank you so much for the uncut series, love love love it! One question: what can you do if you have hooded eyes but not so much space up to the eyebrows?
I learn so much from you, thank you! ❤When you clean your brushes on the towel like that it won’t like damage it? I’m afraid to do mine like that 😅
This is great. Where would you put shimmers/glitter in this case?
Would the Vieve pressed powder work just as well as the Laura Mercier?
This. Is. Genius. Best easy hooded tutorial, ever. Thank you!!! Would this also be applicable for deep set eyes? I thought I had hooded eyes, which I now do as I have gotten older- but my eyes are actually deep set! Weird. Lol
I'm going to try this on my one hooded eye...trouble is I don't know what I 'm going to do on the other eye which isn't hooded 🤔.
Are you shortening your philtrum with the lipstick?
❤❤❤
Oh I just need you to do this to me! What would you recommend as a base for hooded, oily, but sensitive lids? I can't have no base as the skin gets irritated, but any base I do try just gets oily and it and all the eyeshadow just gathers together in the hooded crease! 🤦🏼♀
Could you try a touch of mattifying face powder? If it’s realllyy intense you could also try a little bit of setting spray on the lid with a translucent powder set on top before shadow
Oh what! A “selfie face”! Ok! Tell me more!! I had no idea people have a “selfie face”!!! Is that really a thing?
Oh I know they eyeshadow palette very well. ❤ everything by Vieve.
this
How would you apply if one eye was markedly more hooded than the other? When you apply the same product in equal measure to both eyes, the less hooded looks noticeably deeper than the more hooded. Is there a trick to apply shadow slightly differently to each eye to give the illusion of equal depth? Ps, as an aspiring makeup artist, I'm loving this series!
Using the principle of light draws forward and dark pushes back, you could probably tweak the depth/intensity between the two so they look more even! That said, asymmetry is so natural and lovely and don’t stress yourself too much over it!
🥰👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊
You're wearing the exact lipstick color and texture I've been looking for without success! Would you tell me what it is? The blush looks rather sweet, too.
I believe this is mostly likely a combination of a few things. Katie has talked in the past about adding an eyeshadow with Pearl in it in the center of the lips to give a soft metallic lip. Might be worth a shot if you can’t find the perfect thing off the shelf?
I’m almost certain it’s Lancome 126 coquette. I bought it on her recommendation and it’s absolutely stunning ❤
Just one community post or story in my channel can bring you at least 10k viewers dear katie.
OK, I Gotta know… Can you wiggle your ears? That’s the only way I can do that selfie face.
