and the funny thing is, it'd be better for DICE that way, just that extra bit of content on top and they would have a much happier player base rather than a dying one

Only disappointment is that it won't be coming with a War Story. A cinematic Battle of Verdun would've been truly epic.

That's why I don't play multiplayer it never has a story and I find it boring, kill or be killed and then start over again rinse and repeat
@@gringobronx7670 atleast it has replay value. after you complete a story once, you never get the same experience and rush. but in multiplayer you can get it more than once. and the operations gamemode is very very cinematic

Jesus, what an incredible game. These new maps are simply fantastic.....lovingly made I can tell. I think my favorite is Rupture on Conquest....with the ironic tender beauty of fields of delicate red poppies as stage for horrific, epic, blood filled trenches and armored war fare progressively crumbling the quaint villages. First time playing and I just stood gawping at the sunrise with dog fights careening over head and the sound of explosions ambiently echoing a skirmish down in a local village below. So beautiful. What a game, what a game. My favorite, so far, in the BF series. BF4 close 2nd, but this one is tops for me. How did we get so lucky, I wonder? Hats off, DICE :)

Had they not spread the DLC so far apart it would have been an easy choice but the distance between maps and weapons it too great to warrant a purchase on something that's going to be stale in no time.

in a free update they should include the Springfield 1903 infantry and include the Italian cacarno infantry and sniper with cosmetic helmet and hat options for all factions with a free map like trentino or Isonzo. a map with a high altitude focus so there would be snow

I am an amateur BF1 player. Sadly I cannot afford the season pass and got the game when it went on sale. I hope it will go on sale in the holidays or the summer because it is quite expensive for only 4 maps and a few new weapons. True they add new content but that should be a given. Ah well great game and has really gotten me addicted even though I am terrible and hardly ever play FPS games. One day I hope to get better but for now I will stick with the base game and will wait and see if the new maps are worth it.

No it said "Drei Vier Grenadier" wich is used in germany to lean kids count, and probably got this achievement due to killing 3-4 grenadiers.

Yes well said Dice needs to change their DLC'S . I purchased the Deluxe edition for 80.oo and if I want 4 new maps that's what's important I have to buy Premium or buy them separately. Not what I'm going to do I don't think it's worth it . Maps look cool but not enough Content !

So according to your theory all WW2 games should have a Polish DLC because that's where the war started, and also most people would rather see play as Russians on the Eastern Front or in Gallipoli.

Just keep vanilla BF1 & eventually EA will hand out the DLC's for free. Buy something else to keep you busy and when the DLC becomes free to download you have a whole new game to discover.
BC2 was nice, but it was with it when also began the CODification of Battlefield, adding a previously non-existant singleplayer campaign, and a lot of gun & run gamestyle.
BF1 would be worth 100 €/$ with good bots in their large maps.

From your mouth to God's ears Jack. This DLC system needs an upgrade that tailors to the players, not the company. Alas, it may be a while before things like that happen though...

Verdun is too damn hard. Very cluncky as you say. BF1 is casual and arcadey but yeah, preferable.

It is a nice project, and I appreciate the historical accuracy, but I find it boring to play. Also the fights in the trenches are horribly frustrating for me.
Glad you like it though, I hope you have fun. I bought the game when it was in Early Access just to support what I considered a worthwhile effort.

Jup... Remember those days where BF1942 released with 22 maps and another 15 spread out over two expansion packs. I miss the times where gaming still had to prove itself and where companies did everything they could to convince the potential buyer.
BF4 shipped with 10 maps.......BF1 has 9....and they released the 10th free to everyone shortly after release. So........ya. I mean you can say you want more guns......but that really just isn't very possible....cause they're aren't that many in WWI........besides....BF4s maps were terrible......and having 50 guns and a billion attachments was just.....dumb as well.

This is the STANDARD for how a player should review a game and critic it's flaws constructively while providing solutions. Well done jack, keep battlefield healthy... halo and CoD channels should all be taking notes from this shit
I love that they nerf the AA guns in the next update. Good pilots will get 60-1 scores instead of 32-4. They should buff the tanks too. Give the tanks mortars so the driver can sit all day at his spawn and reck the opposite team even more.
AA has been underpowered for a while now. It's so simple to stay out of their range it's ridiculous. Now they are nerfing it even more and it no longer causes the plane to shake. Good pilots will easily win games now.
my suggestion: dice implements a system which kicks in when a pilot gets 20-0 k-d (or something like that) preventing idiots from taking the planes, and giving them to the most skilled pilots, pilots with most aircrafts destroyed pr min or similarly, and maybe even forcing them to choose a fighter load out.
edit: this restriction should be put on the team opposing the 20-0 k-d pilot, not the team with the 20-0 kd pilot.
actually the tanks already have mortars, you can customize the tanks and other vehicles

I recently got out of my BF1 slump and have been enjoying the game now more than ever. Set goals to get 100 kills with every weapon. Switch it up a bit. Got the new DLC hope to see you guys out there on the battlefield.

I just find it funny that when this game launched, and during the weeks leading up to it, everyone was dropping their panties and calling this the best game ever. Now all you see is people complaining on how casual it is and that the dlc isn't free. Funny how drastically perceptions can change.
These are the people that are too new to grasp the concept or people from COD that couldn't handle the difficulty. And all these so called "veterans" saying BF4 is better are probably the same people who said BF3 was better than BF4 back in 2013. Idiots if you ask me.

Funny you mention COD, because BF has become heavily "CODified" in the recent years. It's basically COD with larger maps and better graphics + vehicules and planes. They introduced a singleplayer campaign that did not exist before, removed bots on large maps, and added all those arcadey xp points notifications everytime you do something.
They have also removed the modding tools that allowed fantastic mods such as Forgotten Hope to be created by the community.
I bought the base BF1 game in the last sale for 30 € and I sort of regret it. Very few servers alive, you often have to wait to join! I am glad they went for something historical and the graphics are good, but if you are not a no-lifer just wait a couple years and buy it for 5 € for the campaign.

I was really worried when I heard about the elite classes as well. Was relieved that they were "pick ups"......but still worried. But they really aren't much of a problem at all. It's so ridiculously easy to counter them. They pretty much never are a real problem.

At empires edge you can go to A and if the enemy dreadnought is on that side the fortress gun can (nearly) always get "part damaged"
