- Our multi day journey down a section of the upper Missouri. Yes, I made a mistake on my first Journal entry by actually writing "June 1" instead of "July 1". I believe I had June 1 on my mind as that was the Date the Corps of Discovery passed by this particular point in the river, when I was making the entry as we floated by Coal Banks.

My wife, my son, and I paddled the upper Missouri from Ft. Benton to Ft. Peck Lake twice back in the 90s. Awesome country! I hope to make the trip again one day.

well documented trip!...been through there on several occasions myself, three forks to fort Buford on the confluence of the Missouri and Yellowstone...rough and beautiful country!...woods

My wife and I did that trip about 5 years ago in May. No snakes or mosquitoes were observed, but most of the campsites were destroyed by ice flow damage and the mud along the banks was deep, making it hard to get in and out. Didn't see another soul for 6 days but the beauty was incredible. Now, because of your video, we're talking about doing it again.

Canoeing the Wild and Scenic section of the Upper Missouri has been on my bucket list for several years now and even though I'm fixing to turn sixty four I won't give up until we do it. I would urge you to undertake this journey. I met a part my of 4 men, none younger than 60 also on the trip about a day behind us. You can do this.
