IIT KGP is worst in term of management of M.Sc Chemistry Student in online mode.
1.No Proper Orientation will be provided at first.
2.Secondly, No instructions mail for ERP portal will be provided.
3. If you fail to update your ERP portal, your important Institute mail will be delayed for days.
4. Faculties can be good.....But all top IITs has excellent faculties.
5. Fees are way too high to be true (Example: Hall establishment charge is approx 15000 which is around 1000-2000 in other institute.
6. Your Greatest supports are your friends, most of them are good. ( Enjoy this part...still density of Bengali's are high...but they are very friendly so no worries)
7. If you have proper choice between IIT Guwahati and IIT Kharagpur, always prefer Guwahati..... Guwahati exceeds in every fields... excellent research, excellent management, fees is comparitively less, Excellent faculties, and placements scenario is same every where.....
8. This is the only IIT, with no scholarship for msc Chemistry. Only if you opt for phd. You may think that it's joint so may be benefitted, you are wrong. Other IITs also offer PhD and much better opportunities where professor will help you excel.

Let me correct about faculties....after 2 months....they sucks....
Except 2 or 3, some professor sucks....they don't care you understand or not, even some professors don't teach...send some NPTEL lectures...have you heard of drunken men walking lone on its way home....same is the situation here....even they say....is you don't see NPTEL, you got to see my sleepy voice.
Some professors are so cunning....they don't want to record what all they teach so that you might be benefited in exam....so cunning....
Last things in just 2 months....here 2 students... including my good friend... committed SUICIDE, he was batch mate in M.sc Chemistry.
If you can get, IIT B,D,K,M, Guwahati, Indore..get there...they are excelling in Chemistry....before opting for KGP....it sucks soul out of you.
Brother during phd in joint Msc-Phd do we get stipend???? How much?

Sir i got iit in 2nd round but when i fill up the jam exam application form then their were a coloum for parents/ guardian and i filled up my brother name as a guardian
Now i qualified jam exam and get scorecard in which written my brother name as a parent's name ( guardian word is not present in obligation) so please sir tell me their will be any difficulty during documents varification for admission and what should i do
2nd problem is my father's name is Rajiv Kumar gupta in all documents but in b.sc. 2nd & 3rd Rajeev Gupta and i have my degree certificate of graduation (in this my father's name is correctly mentioned) iski wajah se bhi documents varification mei difficulty aa skti ??? Please sir help me agr koi alternative solution ho to jisse admission mei koi problem nahi aaye
