  • The PlayList is proud to present "Brilliant Bowls and Unmatched Mugs," featuring Karin Kraemer and her distinctive pottery. The documentary reveals Kraemer's enthusiasm and welcoming laugh as she works in her studio, explaining her methods and motivations; and shares the joy of her craft, with patrons and art lovers.
She skillfully weds this beauty to practicality; decorative plates and bowls have their place, but Kraemer chooses to focus on the functional. Every piece she turns is intended for, and sees action whether in a family home or in one of the many local eateries that purchase her wares for daily service. Beautiful, sturdy, and durable, Karin's creations are meant to have food and drink, in and on them.
Karin maintains a focus on finding local avenues for distribution by wholesale to area businesses and through retail sales to those who attend one of her shows or just happen to stop by her studio, Duluth Pottery Superior Division. The Twin Ports region is her home, and this is where Karin makes sure her purposeful art is used.

I love her work! I also tap the bottoms of my pots while trimming to make sure they don’t get too thing 😂 glad to see other potters do that.
