    There are few moments that leave you truly speachless, but 6:00 of this Video is definitely one of those. No hint of any strain, just a pure, piano c, that is truly incredible

    Just the other day, I was thinking about how would the horns sound like in the Lord of the Rings. And now I get it. Howard Shore is the only composer who could make me tremble for fear. And that`s one of the reason I dare not watch the Lord of the Rings alone. LOL~ Great job, Marc. Your playing is always so amazing, full of surprises.

    You should make some videos explaining how to play as well as you do. I know as a horn player, I'd love to be able to hit those high notes as cleanly as you do in the quiet part.

    What I really like of your videos is that you put the sheets of the whole orchestra. For a learning composer like me, it is absolutely helpful to see how all works!

    *Did anyone else notice a very similar line from the Captain America: Civil War airport fight at **0:41** ?* I know it's a really small thing to notice, but the notes stood out to me after having not seen that movie for 2 years.

    I think it is quite remarkable what you can do with only half notes and full notes. Creates big moments with a lot of action and excitement, but also very well presented at the end, really sad moments. Very good performance. Love the theme in the middle as well, big and powerful and perfect for french horns. Great performance!

    Darn that was epic!
    Brass blasts and half step chromatic clusters make the epic sound of Khazad dum ... The subtle fire are percussion leading tone and choir ( TTBB ) parts '' Urukhas tanakhi , urus ni buzra . '' with a lot mongolian laryngal singers ! That was epic . !
    ( 6 Horns / 5 Tuben , 4 Trumpets in B- flat , C , D and F ( one is doubling B - flat Piccolo Trumpet !) 3 Tenor Trombones and Bass Trombone and 2 Tubas Bass ! )

    Marc, great playing, once again. The highlight for me, and it completely surprised me, was the BEAUTIFUL blend of the Horn and Trumpet starting at the 6:20 mark. With this, you are able to take what was an emotional moment from the original score with the vocal soloist and the soft choir, and make it into something different, something beautiful in a unique way. Absolutely amazing, good, sir!
    The range you chose for the Horn and Trumpet was in the brilliant mode, but to play a soft dynamic (p) in the mid-high register on trumpet is not an easy task, but you played it well. I appreciate all of your work, sir.

    Me sees that the video is not ending at the "Fly, you fools" part. I know that the "sad" part is coming, which is ridiculously high pitch, yet delicate. "No way. Marc is gonna do it?? Huh. Yup. He did it again". For Gimli´s beard, how can you hit those notes!?

    Notes at the first entrance (Con forza) should be slurred. If you go back and listed to the soundtrack they are not articulated like you are doing (your attacks are almost marcato). Otherwise nice arrangement!

    • @Marc_Papeghin
      @Marc_Papeghin  Před 2 lety

      You're absolutely right ! For some reason I always thought those notes were played with that kind of attack and so I naturally played them that way when I recorded the piece, I only noticed it when the video was already finished ^^

      I won't lie though, I got excited for a second that you actually got your hands on a copy of the score. It's notoriously hard to get sheet music for LoTR music if you aren't a big-name symphony orchestra
