Adam Drake from Mugen Seiki Racing talks about the pros and cons to emulsion and bladder style shocks. www.mugenracing.com E2572 - Emulsion Damper Cap (2pcs)
Very helpful. It’s very interesting too though because it’s basically the opposite of what we do for tuning our full scale off road trucks. High speed desert running trucks would never have Emulsion style shocks on them. Emulsion shocks are only used for very slow speed rock crawl situations. Cavitation is our enemy at high speed. Our shocks separate the gas from the oil using remote Reservoirs, not just the diaphragm or bladders like what is used in RC shocks. Again, very insightful and interesting. 👍🏽✌🏽
I'm glad that you touched on being able to use the emulsion cap as a bladder style as well. I purchased a used buggy which came with the emulsion caps, and have been thinking about purchasing the "stock" bladder caps. Now I have confirmation that I don't need to :)
What's up Drake!! Your a true rc legend in my book!! I'm 40 and I've known who you are since I was like 25 hah so I put emulsion caps on my kraton exb 8s and it's night and day difference!! Cheers man!
Tank you Adam, hope it becomes available soon , a great hug for you and Ronda on this new year and crossing fingers we can have you racing some day here in Costa Rica ; you have home here!!! We have a new track that Bobby Moore build for us, you are Welcome to RC Costa Rica
What i like on this product is the quality of it, just amazing. And the cap has a little more volume inside. And a larger bleeding hole. This makes bleeding and rebound setting with the stock bladers easier and more consistent from shock to shock.
I started with emulsion long time ago but soon went to blatter style simply because I couldn't get the emulsion style to be consistent. I also find it way hard to bleed emulsion style right. I run the mip pistons which are simply awesome. 😎
Hi i try the emulsion shocks. And i like the feel, the car was very stable. But the concept of a single chamber shock is strange in a way. Especially in off-road. If bleeded like in the instructions there is vacuum in the shock when full extracted. If there is air in after a while it must get sucked in trough the seal package.
Thanks for the content always great to watch and learn . 🔥 💨 💪 . Sic ? I would enjoy a preparation for a big event @ your level and your recommendation for a sportsman

Thank you very much!
I use emulsion shock caps in my Mbx8t and the handling is very good with exceptional grip 🏁🔥😎
Nice 👍

Yes, it's much easier and cleaner to build the shocks with bladders.

Hey Adam when do they come available for the mbx8? thanks, Stay safe 👊👍✌️
Later this month.
do you find it harder to bleed mip piston as compared to regular piston without the valves
No, it's the same process.
Do you use the same piston and shock oil between both builds?
Yes, or slightly (50cst) thinker with emulsion.
What C block is that on your truggy? Does not look stock.
M2C that's 1mm wider to decrease the rear toe-in.
Are they offical released cannot find anything with the number
We plan to release them later this month.
