In Canada only flat gravestones are being allowed in the past few years , for cleaning purposes. Ie. mowing grass etc. A lot of things are stolen here too. More and more, flowers and other objects of remembrance are being banned to prevent theft, and trash due to bad weather moving things around. Each province has their own rules but the above is becoming more the norm across the country. There are more people who choose cremation as well.

its crazy that you cant have a beautiful piece of art to remember a loved one by just for ease of cutting the grass etc. im sorry that your country also has awful people that think destroying graves is appropriate =( 💛🧡

Hi ladies , just watching the vlog at you've taking about black marble headstones and I might be able to help to help. My Dad died in 1985 aged just 37 for less than a week and my Mum picked a black marble headstone . And we had no trouble till we went up one Christmas and I'm taking maybe 10 years or less and i stopped excuse the pun dead and I just pointed and my Dad's grave had been condemed it was supported by half a pallet and blue nylon string which damaged the headstone, and there was a phone number which Mum rang and rang for nearly wait for this over a year till we got the answer. So my local council decided on health and safety grounds to go round the cemetery to see if certain types of headstones including black marble and this person had to push the headstone one way or another and if they felt it move it was condemned and Mum asked what needed to be done and the answer was if nothing is done the headstone will be laid flat after a certain amount of time and we wont throw them out till we know that theres no relatives to sort it out, put you can get the stonmason to come and insert a bolt to make the headstone safe again. This bolt ladies was over £150 which included the bolt and the stone Mason and the council probably took some too. The stonemason who came when he saw where they wanting the bolt to go could have fractured the headstone , it didnt but one day I notice a huge skip so I stopped and looked it and it was full of headstones and just couldnt believe my eyes and I didnt have my phone with me to take any pictures. And dont get me on the subject of how many grave pots and vases I've put on my Dads resting place to find them gone again but what is sad is it's not adults doing it , its kids using it as a playground and causing chaos and pinch grave ornaments everywhere . It could be the reason that your Dads headstone cant be black marble . Take care all of you . Sending our best wishes from Amy and Meggy. Xx

hey! oh my goodness, this is so shocking. i cant believe they just did this without even informing you before hand. its not like the cemeteries dont have the names of who "owns" the plot on record so every grave has a trustee. a bit of warning would have been better i feel. is your dad buried in a church of england cemetery too? im so sorry that you to have things taken. its just so sick. i remember when i lived in bristol, a bunch of kids went to the childrens.secrion of where my nan and grandad are buried and they literally just destroyed all of it.for the shear fun. its just so awfully. thank you for taking the time to write all this 💛🧡

It still is disconcerting to me when I see you drive on the opposite side of the road than us....plus the driver is on the other side. Lol. I did get a taste when we were in Australia but it is still strange for me. Lol.
