Elias, why should we be worried about his education that happened 60 years ago? Why and how is it relevant today or even about his past involvement in Ethiopian politics? You seem to drift from the main topic during your interviews. You are missing the main issue.
Elias, you always try to build the image of the education system of the former USSR whenever you get people who studied there. That kind of idea comes from unhealthy feeling of inferiority. Additionally, that question is not necessary and relevant anymore. We are past that now. By inserting those kinds of questions into your interviews you only damage the good story. We do not send students to socialist USSR or eastern Europe anymore. What is the use of promoting it? My second comment on this particular interview is regarding your question to Dr Alemu about the disease Toxoplasmosis. Dr Alemu has been fully involved in politics at least since mid 1970s and has been far from science. On the other hand, science has advanced so much in the past 50 years since then. If you are really interested in scientific explanations, you better raise such questions to people who are currently active in the field. Your audience also want to hear the current scientific understanding on the disease not from 50 years ago. You need to identify what to ask. Your guest has a very long and important story to tell from his vast experience and life, from which we can learn so much. I enjoy hearing and learning from seniors like him.
