Owners of Stockton's first food truck park say they are being forced to close

- The first Stockton food truck park is getting ready to close for good. The park's owners said the city has put so much pressure on them, they feel there's no choice. "We all worked very hard on this," owner Kenny Foster said. Stocklandia was a first in the city. It was located in the parking lot of an old car dealership on West Lane that was converted into a safe haven for food trucks. See more in the video above.

When they heard you guys were successful from a food truck with all that noise and foot traffic, they had to step in and cut ties. I bet you if you were paying a little fee to them, they'd shut up

They talk about traffic issues but right across the street is a huge cause of traffic. I used to live a block from there and the school that was build caused way more traffic and had people flying down my street at more than 40mph.

Bad move bu the city, entrepreneurs are the backbone of the economy. What's really going on is local restaurants are bytching and complaining to the city, they think the food trucks hurt their bottom line, which isn't the case.
How is it not the case? I'm not being condescending, just wondering how a food truck park doesn't hurt the bottom line of a restaurant
@@eiffelpex it doesn't hurt their bottom line because Noone ever says to themselves hmmm quick food truck run for dinner or sit down dress attire restaurant. most people that are eating at food trucks aren't even considering a sit down restaurant bro. these are two totally different type of customers.

What a shame. I thought this was a brilliant business idea and I would drive by many times and never saw any problems of traffic. The government of Stockton and all of the people involved in closing this business are a huge disappointment.

Stockton seems to have had the same problems since Feb. 1998.
The second one I ever lived was a Filipino food truck at the Friday art market where I found out about that fantastic shish kabob those great Filipinos make.

Your business. It no different then some one buying that property and putting a restaurant there even if a restaurant all ready across the street.

Then it shows a city council meeting in January last year in 2021 says Stockton city council wanted to shut down stocklandia food truck park. I lived in Austin Texas back then. In food truck park city.

Connie cochran sounding real biased and stupid traffic, crime and noise complaints. First things first its a busy street so theres always traffic. Noise I pass by twice a day once to work another home it's not louder than the traffic on the street. Crime its soulth side stockton you cant pin the neighborhood crime rate on them. The only real argument is the food truck permit but that's such a petty point to try and push. Not to mention in san jose we have moveable fests. Thats were the food trucks all set up at the curtner light rail station which is city property. Stocklandia has is own space either rented or owned I dont know his specifics but that goes to show the city council doesn't have the citizens interest in mind. Not to mention both moveable fests and stocklandia's food truck owners are from minority ethnic groups and communities. But let's talk about this permit for food handling I've worked food service for 5 years. Restaurants/ stationary food spots are more filthy than the trucks. These men and women have cleaner areas simply because they are the owners of their trucks and do the work themselves. Restaurants the owners never there the staff dont get paid enough to care and that falls back the sanitation of those places.
You should have sue the city.
I would buy this business and keep it open!!!

They help you .they fight town, city and win most of their cases specialy with mobile food business
Maybe they think PORTLANDIA IS IN STOCKTON OREGON OR SOMETHING
It wasn't just the city scaring the trucks away you can blame stocklandia for that the rent for a spot there was crazy high not worth it
