For those wondering, no doom bots/blood moon/black market/hexakill etc because I wanted each map to shine and not let every iteration of summoner's rift gamemodes take the spotlight!

Destiny 2 is worse
It's a moba. Getting rid of content and adding new ones is what keeps the players coming back. Fortnite changes the map, rotates guns. Apex changes guns, daily loot replicators.
They can't just keep adding content like how WoW, Ff14, or any other game type can.
And they do it reactively by learning their mistakes. X items too broke and we can't adjust them safely? (death fire grasp) remove it. Champ is just too broken. (Yorick). Remove it from the f2p rotation until we rework him into a healthier state

Now you get just new skins for certain pool of champions (lux,ahri etc.) with "battle pass", which are missions behind paywall xDDDD

But that's impossible for them to just bring the old map and graphis back. Nowdays league runs on diffrent engine that before so they would have to make it from scratch which is way too much work

Used to love the marksman deathmatch, the sg game mode and the oddysey game mode, thresh game mode too, now we get seraphine and a bunch of skins every patch

If you only experienced the feeling of playing those game modes, it makes this video even more special. it makes my heart ache a bit knowing that me and my friends can't remake those memories again... Twisted treeline will be missed for all the trolls out there.

i remember one game i queued into a game with all bots, sat there and farmed te game for hours. was so fun. i miss tt, it’s what i used to play most and where i met and became closer to a lot of my current friends. rest in peace tt
2/4 or 2/3 games had at least ONE bot ... so trash, this is what I believe to be a big reason rito deleted it, their dev team is just a constant flow of newcomers, no one wants to fix the massive code, and they can't be bothered to implement an anti bot mechanism cuz they spend all their time and resources on SKINS FOR PURCHASE that they just DELETE the whole thing... problem solved right?

I miss it so much the community for it wasn't completely toxic and this current event could have been bolstered by it, or at the very least they could have used this event to give the map an actual update instead of just canning it.

Tencent owned about 93% of Riot games before completely buying them. It's just that their influence has skyrocketed after that time.
Yet, let's face it: League would have never been the game it is if it weren't for tencent. We all hate those skins, and waifu champions every patch, and heavily china orientedness of this game etc, but those popular things make this game sustain and hence we could play it. Think about it: How many percent of the game would prefer having a new Pentakill like line over the kda line? When I ask prefer, I ask the ones who would ACTUALLY buy them. Kda enthusiasts overwhelm pentakill enthusiasts, so they kind of have to lean that way to sustain the game as a business.
Authenticity has no value in the showbiz now. It's all about producing the same thing over and over and over again under different names.
Mundo is LITERALLY breathing his last breath now.
Looking at old Morde and Aatrox hurt me so much! Same for Twisted Treeline and the Invasion gamemode.

@@Smortboi20 thats what a bruiser is made for... Garen goes Q+E+R and sometimes dishes out 3k dmg with this combo. Darius is easly able to get you to five stacks in 2 secs and ult you for 1400. Thats the Bruiser class. Its not a xin Ult, because xin ult is strong because of the knockback. Gwen doesnt have one so it will be a very difficult spell because even with the E buffs she is still melee range.

I think odissey it's the modern masterpiece of the game modes, not like the old ones (I didn't had the opportunity to play a lot of them since I started in s8/9) but every time I talk to more veteran lol player all of them had a good opinion on odissey since let you experiment with all that weird buffs and new mechanics for famous champ and the time I tryhard th most in lol was for the odissey top difficult since it was hard and required a lot of team work.
i loved odyssey, damn all those cool upgrades to heroes, imagine a healing ziggs in normal games...

As much as i've complained about league, i thank league for taking me on this journey on this game. I've played this game since 2012 from when i was 8 years old. I've made so many memories playing this game and i grew up playing this game, a huge impact on my life may it be positive or negative, i dont know. But im sure hella glad that i've been a part of this journey through leagues life.

Anyways this is really good, if you havent already I would recommend you to post in on the r/leagueoflegends subreddit, it might get some views
And yes I also miss rotating gamemodes, my favourite was actually Ascension and the Dark Star Thresh one, but the Odyssey/Star guardian events really were awesome aswell, it was really fun to try all the combos and meta stategies to beat the odyssey event on hardest difficulty, it felt like a raid in an mmo where you stategize first and when it finally pays of, you get one measly icon, but it was 100% worth it
I first started playing league when the star guardians event happened I remember practicing in the PvE mode to learn how to hit skill shots and get used to the RTS clicking style of gameplay 😔

i don't understand why they put some much work into a game mode just for it to end???? why not keep it on the rotation of mini-games. i way prefer the odyssey mini-game to any of the ones we have now (urf, one for all). riot pls bring back ascension and the different maps.
They said they cancelled them because they wanted to focus their resources into the main game instead of mini game modes which is why only aram, summoners rift, and TFT exist. Although I also want the random game modes to come back, we probably won't see another one for a long time.

I see a lot of people commenting here who came around seasons 5-8. Even they are being nostalgic. Sadly, I haven't got the chance to experience the game in beta or season one, but I started playing in early season Two. I have played through literally everything the game has had to offer. Always, I have loved every single bit of it, although I was and still am only playing casually, no ranked grinding and such.
Seeing all of these beautiful game modes, those old graphics, champions and maps turned into.. Game Passes for RP with no gameplay change literally crushes my heart into little pieces. Even when they released the first passes, they at least tried to make quests challenging. No only "Grind XP until you have everything".
It is the same with old World of Warcraft. We older players miss the good old days and we think we need the game to be the catalyst for our nostalgia, while actually we just want to be younger again. I don't believe that to be honest. I believe league was in fact in a better state than it is now. Why? While gameplay is still unbalanced, the game is soul less. There is nothing, aside my love and nostalgia for this game that is keeping me. I can never expect anything new from Riot. Expect new skin for Lux.

@@crashbandicootlolo5360 if i am not wrong you couldnt change runes in champion select so you had had to prepare pages before, on champs you and enemy possibly would pick lool and they were expensive af and it took ages to complete one page, which also cost 6300 each
