I’m writing this comment on 8/3/24. The contrast of GW Bush’s convictions, authenticity, & ability to acquit himself articulately differ sharply compared to those of Kamala and Trump. Who would’ve ever imagined that would be the case
What I respect most about him is his careless attitude about maintaining fame over making proper decisions. I could care less if people like you. The only matter is if you did the right thing.
The former President Bush is absolutely very inspirational one. Often when one was a President, certainly will do as much as can for many inspirational things, but the former President Bush even after he retired from his Presidency service, he still spends his precious retired time to take care of disabled veterans and rides bicycles with them to encourage them to live happier and more meaningful. He also went to Africa to take care of ADIS and cival cancer African women. Although he and his wife the former 1st Lady Laura Bush hare not Africans, but they even brought brushes, rolled up their sleeves, to paint their house for them. It’s very touching facts for oneas America’s former President and the former 1st Lady to concern and take care of American women’s health and paint their house for them as well as danced happily with them too. His principles and kindness under principles and decency are touched our heart. He is great.
"For years, I tirelessly preached the message that Clinton must be stopped," conservative talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said. "And yet, in 1996, the American public failed to heed my urgent warnings, re-electing Clinton despite the fact that the nation was prosperous and at peace under his regime. But now, thank God, that's all done with. Once again, we will enjoy mounting debt, jingoism, nuclear paranoia, mass deficit, and a massive military build-up."
he says his fight for freedom against tyrannts. yet his closest ally in the middle east saudi arabia , is a tryrannical regime. the guy is a war criminal and should be in jail
I think Bush did everything he thought was necessary and I think the way he handled 9/11 especially as he did not expect nor want to be a wartime president, I think he did the best he could and It could have been allot worse. At least he did something about it rather that just give up to rage and declare full blown war.
Georgius Kaesar Not disappointed, George did Fogged it up, for using his father as an WMD’s excuse for Iraq Invasion. While Afghanistan should have been kept in focus.
There's nothing like 2024 to make the issues of 2004 seem quaint. The war was wrong, citizens United was wrong, plenty wrong with the Bush admin and Co. and cronies, but I miss this man and miss the old party. They might have been wrong, but at least they stood for something, unlike today, where the party just stands for what is wrong.
I wish we had Bush Jr instead of trump, "enhanced interrogation techniques" excluded. Everyone bashing him for war crimes, look at Rumsfeld, Cheny, and his advisors who he probably kept him in the dark within his cabinet
Haha I love how Bush kept casually ribbing at Brian Lamb, once or twice being like "these students questions are way better than what this guy would've asked!", then later casually calling him old, etc. By his reaction around the 54 minute mark he seemed a bit offended bush called him old!
@ThunderAppeal Wow, you are so warm and fuzzy. :-)) Just a little teddy bear. :) Thank you so much for those kind words.......you must be a very special person.
@ThunderAppeal I checked out your channel and you say that you are a Conservative Republican. You are not like any Conservative that I know. I 'am' a Conservative Republican and I am 'not' full of hate for anyone. You need to do a reality check. You comments are way out of controle.

Hum . . . so . . . what do you think about Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, Iran leadership of Ali Hosseini Khamenei and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Just wondering.
I like him and Jeb as normal people with lot of humor, and certain intellect, same as I follow lot of journeys of other public figures to know who what they are, you can get to know lot about others, how you can know people you don't interact with personally, but you can know lot about them, and but he did have certain messed up decisions as leader of Nation, that cannot be denied, but then nobody knows the truth of those pressures and decisions because it involves intelligence agencies, congress nay' yay' sayers and lot of other factors.
No, he didn't. You're confusing Bush 43 with Bush 41. During the 1st Gulf War in 1991, Bush 41 ordered the military to stop all offensive operations after only 100 hours, and to refrain from helping the Kurds, who were almost completely slaughtered by Saddam with chemical weapons as a result. That was one of the mistakes Bush 41 committed back in 1991, but this had nothing to do with Bush 43 and the Iraq War of 2003. Get your facts straight.
wow, the comment about 24 hour news and hyper partisan news being a death spiral, really hit home. We saw it coming and we failed to do something about it
"The idea of spreading freedom in parts of the world where some people don’t think freedom could possibly exist is controversial. It’s really a change in foreign policy which, in the past, I’ll kind of simplify it, but you know, if it’s a tyrant and he was good to the United States it’s OK. Well it’s not OK, as far as I’m concerned, for people to live under tyranny." What about Saudi Arabia?
@abram493 This is why America shouldnt have any relationship between religion and government. But what do we see? God on our money. God in our politicians speeches. God in our schools. This is the kind of stuff that gives our enemies fuel. When we invade Iraq and our soldiers paint religious symbols on the tanks then it has an effect. When Bush says in his speeches that God is with us and that the evil will be defeated that sends a wave of religious tone to our enemies and the people.
Very much Bush was very understandable, he wouldn’t know what goes on and trying to know what happened, and if people basically didn’t criticise him😮 0:44 a lot and very much has to be very How do you say seventh and know it all and try and be coherent to throw things go far? I think what C-SPAN to do is know how people understand and communicate with people doing understandably good work 1:45 .
"I was at work every morning at 6:45" - G.W. Bush Washington Post reports. "During his two terms, Bush took 879 vacation days, which included 77 total trips to his Crawford, Tex., ranch. Nine of those trips were taken in his first year as president."
Jordan Brown ''vacation days'' as president isn't what us reg. citizens think of as a vacation days. hes not out lounging at a resort, hes at a house of his own with the same technology to stay connected as in the WH. Blaming Bush on taking a ''vacation'' at his own home from the hardest job in the world is such a weak point. Obama goes on lavish vacations and the first couple take separate plane trips hours apart on our dime. I don't see you using that against Obama. You cant blame any president from getting away from Washington, plus everyone leaves Washington in August anyways
Jordan Brown The obamas go on a xmas vacation every year on xmas which means all their staffers miss Christmas cause that have to be with the president. Look it up, both Bush president took their xmas breaks after xmas in order for staffers to spend some time with their family
182parker My criticism of Bush is not an implication that I support Obama, they're both shitty presidents and the actions of one does not justify the actions of the other.
So.he went from one home to another.big vacation there. Presidents don't vacation.rather they keep working while in different surroundings. Heaven forbid the man wanted out of Washington to his ranch in Texas. Same goes for Obama's going to hawaii
I like the comment on immigration around 40 min. However, it seems like we need to think hard on ways to not only make immigration "orderly" but also to invest in ways to unify them as Americans. Diversity is great until it divides the house. Unity can happen in various ways such as religion, language, political ideology, etc... I think language is key because when people cannot communicate it quickly leads to distrust. It is hard to build a relationship when you can't talk to each other.
@abram493 I never denied such fanatics existed. I was simply explaining what western actions ideals cause the hate to begin with. You mention all these peoples who are victims but also remember that the majority of Islam is not suicidal. You are skipping a step in the logic train. You seem to say that fanatics just happen. You also bring up examples such as the mongols and Spaniards. That is simple empire. You also say all the anger is against the west. I never said ALL.

What I personally do may have no effect but what my government does can. You are saying that if we put our hand for peace they will cut it off. If you think that then hope is lost. But lets turn it around. If a fanatic really doesnt want to bomb a church but he feels like he has to because he cant make peace then what will he do?
Bush had a Bad Administration, but focus on pressuring Iraq was smart and Fought war on Afghanistan was smart, except Iraq war was a backstabbing decision, just hold off the pressure and let Saddam suffocate until, Good deals came. Still does not make me say Bush was Bad, He Was very Good president and very Humble.
@abram493 Now about stepping in other nations. Iranians have been getting more and more fed up with Iranian leadership. This goes for many nations but Iran is a good example. Now we sit back and let the Iranians fight because it is in our interest. But when the Iranian leadership says westerners are behind the revolt then the people unite against us and the revolt is over. The reason they believe their leaders is because of our history. We have caused revolts and that is not forgotten.

the quality is oddly nostalgic though.

It'd be the only he was. But I seriously doubt that.
I'm a Democrat, but I think President Bush is a good man who loves his country. I admire his refusal to criticize President Obama.
