  • Another video that has been planned for a very long time...since I first heard the Foo Fighters song “This Is A Call” and found out where it was recorded I really wanted to visit the studio. This is Robert Lang Studios in Seattle where Kurt Cobain and Nirvana recorded their last ever song and the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl recorded their first album entirely on his own. I’m taking you inside the studio for an exclusive tour given by Chris the studio manager and co-owner. Oh, Soundgarden also have been in here and members of Pearl Jam. WHAT?? That’s right. This is THE place in Seattle for established and up and coming artists. oh ya, and apparently it’s haunted! Bit of a ghost story in this video too. Jam-packed.
If you are interested in helping fund my channel please go to my Patreon page www.patreon,com/scottontape Soon I’ll have Patreon-only videos up on that site so consider it!
Foo Fighters is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on July 4, 1995 by Roswell and Capitol Records. Dave Grohl wrote and recorded the entire album himself, apart from a guest guitar spot by Greg Dulli, with the assistance of producer Barrett Jones at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. He claimed that he recorded the album just for fun, describing it as a cathartic experience to recover from the death of Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain.
You Know You're Right" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, written by lead vocalist and guitarist, Kurt Cobain. It is the first song on the band's self-titled greatest hits album and the last song the band recorded before Cobain's death in April 1994. Released as a promo single, "You Know You're Right" reached number one on both Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts.[

If you listen to all the Foo Fighters' albums side by side, all the recordings after the first were much more polished and produced. I do enjoy a good chunk of their music, but I connect to the first record the most by far. It's the most punk rock and raw, but well-written songs and well-performed. I think a lot of that overproduction isn't needed for their music.

Dave is one of the most down to earth and funny/goofball an cool/chill person ever.. back in 92 when they hit it big he bought his first home here in my area on the outer banks of NC an the best part is he basically lived here during a good part of 92 and would literally hangout at a places called Mex-Econo’s in kill devil hills NC an he would literally act like one of the guys an didn’t act like his crap didn’t stink.. just like he said in the video they are just regular people with different jobs..
Dave’s mom Virginia and sister Lisa would stay here with him a lot and His sister Lisa actually was cool lol she would work the door at night bc Mex-Econo was a place that played a lot of underground music and had the best fish tacos ever 👍🏻
She was dating one of the co owners also but seriously Dave was awesome and would shoot pool an even jump on the drums every now an then..
I need to dig in my storage an see if I can old pictures an some video of it..
it always makes me smile when I see a picture of Dave while in Nirvana sporting that Mex-Econo hat lol actually that one big Nirvana poster you can see it it’s that one picture where Kurt’s in the middle and Krist and Dave are behind him but Krist is leaning out from behind Kurt in Kurt’s right side and opposite for Dave

I forgot to mention Dave’s mom actually owned a bagel shop here on the outer banks of NC and his sister Lisa lived in his Outer Banks home for a good while when Dave wasn’t around but sadly after Dave’s divorce his wife got the house and sold it around 2003 or 2004 bc I remember she sold his hot tub in the classified back then an I still have it bc she labeled it as Dave Grohls old hot tub for sale so it would sale quick 😂 😂 he also wrote a Foo song that was inspired by the golden sand dunes outside his beach house old Carolina 👌🏻 and he learned to surf here back in 92 I read an article about that like a year ago and also he had been cooking BBQ lately and did a podcast on a cooking show or something like that an mentioned how he would eat Carolina BBQ 24/7 when he lived here an when he moved away he couldn’t find BBQ that tasted like real Carolina BBQ so it inspired him to start cooking lol which is awesome

This is very cool! If you’re into punk rock, as I am, you’re probably into reggae as well. The coolest thing, to me, about this video, besides the Nirvana/Foo Fighters stuff is Damian Marley. I’d have to make a whole video about that! I have to look up more about that now... ✌️

when you are in Edmonton I would like you to see a ghost up close and personal .. the ghost is that of a young man that committed suicide .. I saw him many times ... moved away from that neighborhood because I was tired of that ghost looking at me threw the living room window .. I'm sure that lost soul is still there .. seeing him will confirm to you that we live on after death

  • @krisfrederick5001

This one is more eerie for some reason..Nirvana ended and Foo Fighters began in the same room over the same session, essentially. I knew Kurt had liked some of Dave's songs that he had heard. Obviously that's why Marigold ended up being released by Nirvana. P.S. I wrote that before he started talking about ghosts.

18:20 +/- I think that actually may be Foo Fighters in between the first two albums. They recorded some demos and b-sides there, such as Down In The Park on the X-Files album.
