My top 4,
1-Tiny nearly useless cup holder.
2-Floopy sun visor ends
3-Lack of storage
4-Seat plastics come loose and difficult to fix.
I can agree with everything except the lack of storage space...The C5 has more space available for storage than anything even close to comparable in performance. I fit a week's worth of luggage and supplies in the trunk and rear shelf of my Z06 for both my son and I not too long ago, and it wasn't even hard to do. The center console is shallow, yes, but the glove box is big enough for the little things you may need while driving--everything else should be in the trunk where there is plenty of room. Lyle
I get so tired of hearing about the interiors of C5s...Can't wait for 20 years from now when everyone will be griping about the ?cheaply? made C8s. I got a Vette for performance and I happy with that; and from what I've seem with the C8s, they perform quite well, and I'm sure the interior was an afterthought pricewise, at a price well below the super car prices. I've replaced many plastic parts on my 01 and the only irritant to me is losing the door panel screw covers 3 or 4 times. Maybe its just me but I don't expect perfection with a 20 yr old car, I deal with it and move on..

Total agree with you, these are sports cars who cares. But you can’t deny that the c5 interior is very cheap plasticy, like all GM products from the early 2000s haha :)
I still don’t get you guys complaining about the C5 interior. Of course it’s allot of plastic. What isn’t. THESE CSRS STE 20 + years old . 🤔
I noticed those 3 holes in my recently purchased '98 and thought previous owner drilled the holes! Thanks for clearing it up!
After hearing the criticisms for years, I'm pleasantly surprised by the interior of my '01. This pair of videos is very useful though, as these little things that fail are easy to sort IF you know where to get the parts from. Great video(s) Lyle.

I’ve put a 44oz cup with a tapered bottom in a Corvette Clips cup holder ring. It’ll shake a little but it won’t fall out of the ring. Just make sure the cup isn’t filled to the rim. Take a little off the top before you put it in there.

I went with the aftermarket side of the console cup holders. I use the stock cup holder for my phone... best use.

I’ve replaced a few of these items as preventative maintenance, but if you keep her in the garage or under a cover, I’ve found that these parts (even plastic) last a LONG time
Absolutely true! Also, using a windshield sun shade can have huge benefits long-term for the same reasons. Lyle

It was cool running into you at Carlisle, didn't realize you were a giant! LOL. I'm currently about to order a set of your sunvisors as my son felt the need to destroy a perfectly good one..

And I don't know if anyone noticed, is a lot of hot air from the engine compartment go in the cabin through both doors and the console where the shifter is located !!!

I had to laugh about the radio knows. My new to me C5 is missing 2... I am a recent new resident to Sarasota and had to stop in and see the shop. I can tell you it is a Corvette lover's mecca. I can also tell you the people there were extremely helpful and informative not to mention very nice guys. Blake came out checked out my car, gave me some tips. Lyle took time to talk and welcomed me to FL as well. I don't remember the owners name, Steve I think, also very kind. Also what is obvious is these fellas have probably forgotten more about Corvettes than most people will ever know. Great shop and I look forward to doing business with them.
Lyle, probably like a lot of Corvette Owners (assumption), I have been a corvette lover ever sense my dad and his friend took me for a ride in the friends 1958 corvette convertible. I was 8 years old at the time. I have been an Owner for only about 7 years. I am fortunate to have a 1978 silver anniversary model and a 2004 C 5 convertible. I love both my Corvettes. I must be one of the lucky C5 Owners, because the only problem of the 10 annoying things on the C5 you reviewed was my turn signal/parking light. The next time I have an issue with that light, either side, I purchasing both sides of the revised assembly you mentioned a short time back. Thank you and the Owners of C & S Corvettes for allowing you to make and post these videos. They are very informative and enjoyable to watch. I understand you are the proud Owner of a C5.

My '97 C5 held up well, considering its age and 110,000 miles. The only interior part that was f*cked were the sun visors, which basically disintegrated. Cant fault anything else. Mechanically, these things rock
my ignition bezel was super broken when i bought my 03' c5 in 2007, thankfully parts were readily available at my local dealer back then. I think that was the first thing that I fixed.

Whats the deal with the double ashtray doors in the center console? Why does the interior (smaller door) have a spring to open it? It will never stay closed by itself? Weird design. Any thoughts on this?

I myself have never had any of the issues you have mentioned in this video. All good to know though. My 04 is in garage and covered most of time and never parked in the Sun except for driving on day trips.👍 In my center console I have noticed the blue lighting for outside Temperature has started to be dimmer and hard to read at times.🤔
Ron, that is a super common issue. It is solved by removing the HVAC control head from the dash and re-flowing some solder joints on the motherboard. Easy peasy. Lyle

I love my C5, but for such an expensive car at the time, there is a lot to be desired for the interior. I've had several of the annoying issues you mentioned. IN ADDITION to your 10 items, I absolutely hate the seats, from rocking back and forth of the seat, to clicking/movement of the seat back during accel & decel and of course wearing out the leather on the bolsters. The only thing keeping me from after-market "racing" seats is the power seats with auto entry and exit settings. Also, what is it with raised dots on the back window...impossible to get tinting that looks right.

One of the annoying things to is the AC buttons that fade every time I get into my Corvette I look at those AC buttons that that are fading

Speaking of ambient air temp sensor, where can I get one? I think mine is bad and I can't find one. Love your videos Lyle and it works, if and when I need parts, I will be looking to your place first. I am in NH or I would bring my car there when needed!
Lyle, have you considered doing a video or two on annoying things on a C6 Corvette? You have helped out the C5 owners, son could you do the same for the C6 owners?

I hate that ignition ring. I had to replace mine when i 1st got the car. Every time I need to get into the dash it falls out of place and doesn't wanna go back
Same- and I loved how you have to unscrew the entire panel to replace that little ring haha

My cup holder broke so I bought a new but it doesn't seem to have the spring to it. do you have a video on replacing it properly?
I didn't think that there was any king of spring on the cupholder lid from the factory. There is on the ashtray cover, for sure, but not on the cupholder lid. Lyle

That is a great question, and one that I have no answer to. Our own C6 has the same issue. We tried a signal booster, but it made little to no difference. I will see if I can research it further. Lyle

I won't talk about how annoying this guy is, but I will tell you the center console opens that way so you can access it with the hand brake up and engaged. Excellent design just like the hood ¿`_
