Angelus Shoe Polish so I’m looking to order this paint, is acrylic leather paint able to be used on vans and like Nike’s (Air Force ones) or do I have to buy different paints for each. Also the paints he used is it 1 oz? And how long does that last
Our acrylic leather paint is good for both canvas Vans and any leather shoe. For leather just make sure to prep the leather first with our Leather Preparer or acetone. As far as the Vans, you can mix our leather paint with our Angelus 2-soft fabric medium. Mixing the 2 will help the paint adhere to fabric materials. A 1oz bottle should completely cover 3 pairs of shoes. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Hi Angelus! I did have a question regarding the vans. Is it okay if I don’t use 2 soft mixed in, or is it required for s complete shoe? Or could I heat set the paint to have it adhere well? Thanks

Yes, absolutely. It's a good idea to shake any of the paints well before using.

Question tho 2 soft helps with painting and drawing and what not but if I’m just trying to change my vans color should I use some or plain paint and no 2 soft? Or add it anyway
When you are working with canvas or fabric materials you can mix our paint with our Angelus 2-soft fabric medium. Mixing the 2 will help the paint adhere on that type of fabric material

Could a blow dryer be substituted for a heat gun?
What do you use to protect the shoes after you customize it? I have Angelus brand Acrylic Finisher and Water and Stain Repellent. Which would be best?
You can use both! The Acrylic Finish adds an even coat to the design and some minor protection while the Water and Stain Repellent helps waterproof the shoe.

Do you add something at the end like water resistance or something like that or do you leave it as is?
It always helps to spray with Water and Stain Repellent but it's completely optional. Our paint is durable and waterproof as is.

do you have to apply a finish coat with this type of shoe?
No, regardless of the material of the shoe the finisher is optional. The paint will adhere and last on it's own as long as the paints and shoes were prepped properly. This means, for leather, removing the factory finish of the shoe before applying the paint with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer. For canvas and fabrics, we recommend mixing the paint with 2-Soft. For this type of shoe, it is normally not suggested to apply finisher. It may cause the canvas to become stiff and hard.
When he add the details on the pizza cheese does 2 soft still needed on it?
He did not, but that is up to the artists. Some do and some do not. Personal preference.
Is there a proper way to prep fabric shoes, like how leather does? And finish?
Deglazer or acetone is not needed for fabrics. However make sure the surface is clean and we recommend mixing 2-Soft with the paints.

Angelus paints are waterproof and will be just fine if you clean the shoes by hand or in a machine. Either way the paints will hold up.

An absolute must-have when working on fabrics such as the sock-liner of shoes and other soft fabrics. When heat-set properly, this Fabric Medium will help keep your fabrics nice and soft after being painted.

To properly heat set, the instructions state to use a heat gun at 300º F for 3-5 minutes. If your blow dryer can reach the temperature then that would work just fine.

Yes, but that is based off personal preference. Some artists just apply a base coat then paint when working on detail artwork. Just work what is best for you.
Can I paint the soles checkerboard with permanent marker thanks
Hi there, we do not test markers unfortunately. However from experience in the past, the marker color fades to a brown pretty easily.

Just a basic #2 pencil will work just fine.

Nope. Finisher is not necessary. Some customizers prefer not to add finisher to canvas. This can cause the material to harden and become super stiff.

It’s funny how they model the shoes with a skateboard that Hasn’t been skated in years. It’s completely waterlogged with a chipped tail, so unskateable. Just proves non skaters who wear vans think their skaters
