It is very common in my practice for patients to come or for patients relatives to came and sit and ask how long will my patient survive? The fact is nobody has an answer for this question. It is always an estimate. It is always a statistics. If at a given chance of survival for this long, we say 5 year survival rate of this much percent, it means if there are 100 percentage with cancer then 80% will make it to 5 years. Now what does it mean to a given patient? You may be in the 20% or you may be in the 80%. So you can be sure on which part of the rate you are. So whenever you go to a doctor and ask what is going to happen to me. In reality the doctor does not know. What I tell my patient is focus on treatment. If a doctor has suggested you treatment that means your disease is treatable and look at the positive side of it, go or the treatment ad hope for the best, because the doctor is trying to do the best for you, always THINK POSITIVE. Cancer is never the end of your life, infact a lot of cancers today can be treated and can cure cam be achieved. even in stage 4 cancer cure is achievable in good number of patients. We see a good number of patients with stage 4 cancer and see them dong well. There is a segment of them who do well. So the surgeon or the doctor is only helping them to treat cancer. So finally the fight between the two, one of them will win and which one is determined by multiple factors, that makes the final result. However there are specific situation where we can say life expectancy is very bad, that is there are multiple tumors that are spread in the brain, or entire liver is affected by cancer or entire lung is affected by cancer. - Jak na to + styl

Umm. I guess so I have brain tumor. And I am just 13. Like just 13. But it says that there is 75% of people who are younger than 15,can survive brain tumor or you call it a cancer,okay so they can survive for 5 years. Idk,but I guess it has just been some months or idk,when I exactly got tumor,cause like recently today,while I was listening to heal brain tumor like for timepass,it felt something very pressured my brain,like it was feeling like the tumor is getting removed. So it was like strange to me,and like I cried thinking about it. But I will keep on praying to God for healing me,and i believe i will survive it. Ok so mums consultant said it is too advanced and no treatment, they kicking mum out of hospital ( she is 80) today to go to a care home with no treatment to a care home even though she has a beautiful house of her own and we she pay £1000 a week to stay there and saying he getting dementia when doctor told us she has advanced cancer spreading to the brain wtf here is my message someone can you help us please

Get this my Mother was diagnosed stage 4 cancer 6 weeks ago and been in hospital only because she fell and was on her lounge floor all night, get this they discharging her on Tuesday to a care home because they say she is medically fit, she is 80 years old and they not going to attempt to find source of cancer ( spread all over her body) so they can not treat it has tests be too invasive. She has a beautiful home i offered to go stay there has she may fall in the night if home alone etc ( can only get day care to home apparantly) so now has well has pay for her house bills now have to pay a £1000 a week to go in a care home, also even saying she has dementia coming on when it is cancer spreading to the brain, how can she be medically fit to leave the hospital?
