I really enjoy your videos. I've got a 1977 35 HP Evinrude on a 1970 15.5 ft Starcraft. I've learned a lot about fine-tuning my motor from your videos. Thanks
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! I luv my Starcraft! Stay tuned !
It's always nice to hear that water slap the bottom of your boat😊
Slap Happy!
13:55. “That felt goood!” 😂
Nice runner you got there. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for tuning in. Yeah feels good when you can rip it!
Fix your fuel leak and put a new thermostat and gasket in it. They will buck and not run past half throttle if it overheats. I couldn't tell in the video, but you should also do a water pump as well for good measures. I grew up with these OMC 25's. My dad, brother, and I still run these motors yearly in our fishing boats. They are basically bullet proof motors. You didn;t break down for the record if you made it back to the dock with the motor running FYI. You got me on click bait with that as I had to see why this motor "broke down" lol. Good luck
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! The thermo & pump were done when I built that motor over a year ago. It's just now getting a work out, besides a few test runs a couple of months ago on a 13' boston whaler that belongs to my neighbor. She still had a couple of kinks in her but she's fine now. That was a break done for me. Its rare but it happens and I almost always make it back to the dock! Almost Hahaha! Thanks again & Stay tuned !
When I had my old Lund S-14 I strapped a 31 series battery to the front seat for the trolling motor. Worked perfect! Cheers! 🍻
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Yeah thats the size I'm using and I'd say two of those weighs are the same as one battery! They heavy! Thanks again !
You know outboards never run great for too long as theres always something goin on ,LOL! They are pretty darn old you know. I truly find it amazing some of these old motors run as good as they sometimes do ,HA! Keeps our minds a thinkin. I got one now driving me nuts a 1957 5.5 Johnson .... later enjoy your week....
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Thats a 90's motor and to me its new! Hahaha. Like I always say, OMC is the Briggs & Stratton of the Outboard World !
@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 Yep especially their even older ones. Did you know Steve Briggs was a partner of OMC I guess it rubbed off ,LOL! New coils and a CD pack would solve alot of run problems without getting under the flywheel but who the hell wants to spend money,HA! I like the old points guys....Lot of 25-35HP $75- $100 FM deals up here Im overstocked have enough, enjoy your day.
You got that rig gliding nice and smooth,. The added bow weight works wonders. Thanks again for these videos and the channel.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Nice boat Dino. I am sure he will make use of your expertise with motors. That extra weight up front gives you the proper distribution with your motor. Add or remove as necessary. Old motors need some love.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Nice! You’ll figure it out….Good video! 👍
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Dino.......... wasn't he the guy with the 35 who said, "I don't need a thermostat; this is Florida, man."? (Hope he runs a thermostat in his 60.) Well, you've done a great job on getting that Clipper balanced out with ballast in front. Looking good. Can't wait for the next episode. Thanks.
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Yes thats him and yes he put in a new thermostat, thing was running ice cold! Thanks again & see you on the next one!
The 30 ran like a champ no thermostat!
@@dinocrnic131 Yep. And it will until the rings stick and it scores the cylinder walls.
It’s always something I have the same luck soon as everything is going smooth something takes a crap 💩 on me 👍🏻🤘🏻
ditto: I learned the hard way that's why it's called a boat......"Break Out Another Thousand".....😡
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Yeah it was slowly building up.
She's a ripper. Get that fuel pump straightened out and boom baby!!! 😊
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
Maybe put a fin on each trim to keep the ass end from sliding around?
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Good idea but I think the weights took care of the problem. She Rips! Thanks again !
I'm telling ya THINK "TURBO" install a turbo on the ol'girl & set the water on 🔥! Max out the GPS!😂
Yeah Baby Haha! Thanks for tuning in!
You should run “The Beast” next!
Oh damn! Hahaha. Thanks for tuning in!
What if you spray foam in the bottom put plastic down so you can pull the molds out😅
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Maybe!
Haha yeah buddy!!
Hahaa!
It's always something right lol
Hahaha, Gotta get the kinks out! Thanks again !
LOL!!! First, that is not "old." At my house you have to get into the pre-70's outboards, and more like into the FIFTIES outboards to be old!!!
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Hahaha Yep, like I told Outboardtink62, it's a new motor for me! He's like you with the 50's stuff. And he's good! Thanks again & Stay tuned !
Hope you know a guy than can fix outboards.HA HA HA.Saga continues for sure.
Hahaha. I might know a guy. Thanks again !
18..19..20......Sh*tttt
Real life saga man lol
Hey. Thanks for tuning in!
What lake u at?
Fairview ! Thanks for tuning in!
Hey mate I'm down in Australia doing a build with a 1988 40hp and 55hp Evinrude outboards anyway of getting in contact with you just looking for some tips and advice on a few things cheers
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I gave up on giving an email address. Too many scammers out there, before you know it you're signed up at a dozen sites you've never even heard of! Hahaha. How can I help? Thanks again !
Haha yeah all good mate I can understand that, so I've got a 40hp evinrude that I'm running atm and I picked up a 55hp dirt cheap just for spares but decided to convert the 40 into a 55hp so far I've swapped the 55hp carby and reeds over to the 40 did the timing like you've shown and got her to idle nicely tonight just seeing if you know of any little tips or tricks and anything else I should do like swap other parts or advance/retard the timing and problems I might need to keep an eye out for ,also what prop would you recommend chasing more top end speed than anything currently running a 11 3/4 diameter 17inch pitch OEM prop

@@benjiwilson2716 Hey. Sounds good! I think you've got it all covered. Did you look up the Joe Reeves timing method, it has to be done just right. I did it on this motor and it screwed it up. As far as prop choice you'll just have to play around with that. Just remember that bigger isn't always better!
@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 hey mate just took it out on the water and the motor wouldn't get to full revs under load coughing and spluttering real bad at probably 2000rpm with motor out of water though achieved wot no problem any ideas? Do I have to change the CDI over or re jet the carbs?
Do you still want them pictures of a true 35 hp carb an yes its on my boat pictures on my phone also need i need a number to call 👀
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Just do a short vid and post it on your channel with the outboard year/model. LMK Thanks !
