Loferer & Leoganger Steinberge biking - Lofer, Pillersee, Leogang - 05/2024 | Pinzgau and Beyond

The Steinberg Runde, the biking route circling around the two Steinberge mountain ranges is pure enjoyment!
Route from Lofer to Waidring travels along the Loferbach river surrounded by Steinplatte and Loferer Steinberge mountain sceneries, then continuing to wonderful Pillersee lake before entering Leoganger Tal and changing the dominating mountains to Leoganger Steinberge after Hochfilzen.
In Leogang a visit to the valley station of the Asitz Bahn gondola and the Epic Bike Park around it, part of the largest biking area in Austria. Afterwards, a quick side-tour to see the luxurious wellnesshotel Krallerhof before continuing forward.
Bypassing Saalfelden from north side, continuing along the Saalach river to Lofer via Weißbach and St. Martin - with another side-tour to see the outdoor area of Vorderkaser/Shidergraben, although leaving the Vorderkaserklamm gorge for another visit.
Full day, full of impressions - the Steinberg Runde is very much a recommended tour!
