  • Mowing large property with Exmark Staris 32 Stand on mower - Real Time No Bag Strangely Satisfying
    In this video I take the Exmark Staris 32 Stand on mower to my big commercial farm house property and let the grass clippings fly with no bagger kit or grass collection system installed, just straight side discharging. I wanted to see how it would feel to use a small stand on mower on a bigger property that normally gets mowed with a 36" Exmark Turf Tracer walk behind mower and sulky. Will the smaller deck size slow me down? Or will the increased mowing speed makes things quicker? How does the Staris 32 do on hills without the bagger kit installed? I also wanted to see how the exmark staris 32 stripes with the exmark ultracut series 3 mower deck.These are some of the questions I wanted to explore, to see if what is the best 32 inch stand on mower?

      Lawn Care Business Success Hi man, I was just wondering what kind of trailer you are using. Brand & Price? Thanks a lot!

      It’s a custom built trailer. Was roughly $13,000 about 15 years ago. The back half has a hydraulic lift like a dump truck. I had the trailer sandblasted down to metal and repainted and new decals put on in 2011.

    Demoed a 36 inch staris. It had a great cut, pretty fast the only cons were it should have a deck assist lever and it would be nice if platform flipped up

      Those are the two things that would be on my wish list as well. Thanks for watching.

      I'm looking to buying one next year, but I'm really concerned about the deck lift. How much of a problem do you have with this?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 4 lety +1

      It’s actually not really a problem. Just more of a annoyance. I am use to the four pin setup as that is what my turf tracer has as well as the Walker GHS mower I owned in the past. It only takes a minute to change the height but can be awkward if you use a bagger attachment like I do. The new ones now added some hooks on the side to make lifting the deck quick for trailer clearance. Also they made the single lever height adjustment available to the 36 and 44 models, but you can also still buy them without it as well if it’s not a problem for you and you want to save some money. Unfortunately the 32 will still not be available with it. You can check out the video I did about the new Exmark products from the GIE to see the new height adjustment on a 36 Staris. Here’s a link.

    For anyone considering buying this mower, cons of this mower verse other 32" stand ons(Encore, Worldlaw) is that there is no quick way to raise the deck. So getting this mower on/off the trailer the bottom of the deck may drag. Also, I know that the other options offer RDC and I did not see that for the staris. Lastly, the price on the staris is a couple grand higher than the other options. Do your homework folks

      There are cheaper options but the Exmark is also made way tougher than the other options. Heavier grade steel, stainless steel bent tubing instead of hoses for all the hydraulics etc. It is the definition of a commercial grade machine. Also they do offer a deck lift kit, if loading onto trailers is a problem. It allows you to lift and hook the deck in a raised position for loading and transport without messing with or changing the height you have set on the pins. I have a kit just have not installed it yet as loading is not an issue for me. Thanks for watching.

    Looks like 32" is the smallest size in this stand on category and can really sneak into narrow areas. Interesting m/c.

    Why do you bag anyway

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety +1

      Because I service mostly small dense city properties with a 21” mower and it’s faster to bag then to double cut or mulch here. Leaves a cleaner look with no mess. We get a lot of rain throughout the year so lawns grow pretty tall from week to week. Thanks for watching.
