  • This video shows you how to do simple animal faces looking at the eyes, ears and mouth and then moving onto some slightly more complex features. Everything is explained and filmed, some good close ups too, hopefully it will give you ideas and the confidence to create your own needle felted sculptures.

    Hi, I am a beginning felter and love watching your tutorials. I was looking for two hard flat pieces, like your coasters, to felt things sandwiched in between. I couldn't find anything but came up with something really easy for felting little paws and such. I used the plastic tops that come with hair styling mousse. They allowed me to see more and turn and felt from all angles. This is probably a trick that is already know in the felting world, but it sure made my little rabbit paws much easier to do!

    I just found your channel and I'm OBSESSED! I've watched about 5 in a row, just now! I've been looking for a hobby that doesn't require loads of natural talent, because I don't feel very talented, artistic or crafty. Felting seems like a great one to pick up, because you can make cute little animals or garlands and given them as gifts, and everyone loves them! I can't wait to start felting! I wish I could come to your country (England?) and take an intensive course with you and learn everything you know! Looking forward to watching all of your videos. Cheers!

    Love your videos, they have been very helpful! Thank you for making them available. I have a problem when I am doing the smaller bits like ears, they really stick on the underside to the mat, it appears you use the same type of mat. I move the piece every few stabs but it still tends to stick. Any tips?

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Před 3 lety +1

      It happens alot but turning, as you do, helps then as they get more firm use a finer needle, really shallow and go in at 45 degrees to tidy up the fluffy bits. I think a felted woollen mat is maybe the best but it still happens at the beginning. Peel off supporting the ear as you turn it leaves less pulled out bits too. Thanks for watching my videos and hope that helps a bit x
