San Francisco is truly a special kind of place. It's going through some bad times right now but I believe it will get better. My parents were born there so very special to me. I do get tired of people in New York City just bashing it on tv. That's not nice. Thank you Adam for showing a city that people want to see. The lights at night are a beautiful thing to see.
We went to San Francisco for the first time last year from the UK and loved it. We rented one of the Go Cars for a couple of hours and it was so fun going down Lombard Street in it! This video has brought back so many happy memories 😊
@29:08 Funny story about the sea lions on one of those floating platforms. When I was living in San Francisco, I went to Old #9 Fishermans Grotto for lunch and I looked out the window and saw the sea lions all gathered up on the floating platforms, sleeping. There must have been at least 20 of them. One very big sea lion turned over and the whole platform dipped into the water, waking them all up and they all started barking at eachother. It was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen.
So many cool things in San Francisco .. thanks for taking us along. We went back in 2019 and only stayed for two days so went to. A few of these places but not all of them. Really enjoyed this series.

This day has my heart. 💚A lot of people might turn up their nose at all the "touristy" spots everywhere but it's truly what you make of it, and so much of your day featured here is my simplest, happy place. Coit Tower takes my breath away every single time I look for it and find it in the background of my day as I'm traipsing about the City, and it's also one of my favorite Huell Howser California's Gold episodes. And Musee Mecanique? Omg, what an absolute treasure! Not only is it so much fun, it's such a privileged walk back in time, isn't it? There's a little sticker at the bottom of those Thimble Theater dancers--the one with the dancing Metallica fan, hahaha, that really brings it home for me. It says: Please be gentle with these machines. Most of them are or will be older than you will ever be." Priceless. 💚
You gotta do it. It's a small city and in this case the tourists really do know where the most beautiful vantages are. When I visit my sister in SF she doesn't really like doing this stuff...but she seems happy that we enjoy it. Then we go somewhere more obscure after.

Those old cool machines that were all mechanical are amazing. Sort of like the pinball places popping up in various places now. Mostly old pinball machines that supposedly been replaced by computer games. As a kid they were everywhere and I was always disappointed when they went from 5 balls to 3. The pinball/museum building in Vegas is amazing. Great video as usual, Adam, followed you for years.

I like going to Ghirardelli Chocolate factory. It reminds me of Willy Wonka. When we were teenagers, my family visited San Francisco. My dad drove us by San Quentin. He said, Take a good look at this place. If you don't watch what you're doing, this is where you wind up. That was a good lesson.
At 22:05 in the video, just above the Nick's Lighthouse signage on the canopy, there is a genius pigeon who has figured out how to walk between the rows of plastic spikes that are supposed to "repel pigeons"! Ha Ha! 😃

Our aunt, my mother's sister took us down Lombard in her Mustang II Ghia. Her car was cherry mint till the end of the day. Someone swipe the side of her car in the parking garage. Broke my heart, as I'm a Ford fan. Had the low powered v8. Though not popular with mustang fans. The Ghia style in my opinion was cool. This was in the summer of '86.

(I thought about Cosby, giggling, the last time I entered a school-supply store for parents and teachers.) And then, WHY IS THERE AIR?, is a true comedy gem. Jerry Seinfeld attributes his desire to go into comedy as largely stemming from listening to this album. The power of his later albums is his ability to build you up across several routines to the point where you are rolling in the aisles. For an example. Driving in San Francisco... "They built a street up there called Lombard Street that goes straight down, and they're not satisfied with you killing yourself that way-they put grooves and curves and everything in it, and they put flowers there where they've buried the people that have killed themselves. Thanks for the tour of Coit Tower! I was born and raised in the City but never visited the inside of Coit Tower. Yes, it is a fire nozzle. Btw, they are called cable cars not trolleys. You should go to the Cable Museum next time. You can see the working cables that pull the cable cars. A trolley car is electric and runs on Market Street.
The murals were done by several artists, but Diego Riviera is not listed as one of them as shown on Wikipedia (I always though he did them as well) And yes, the story that Coit Tower was designed to look like a firehose is correct. I don’t know if Mrs. Coit had an affair with a firefighter, I never heard that. I had always heard it was to honor the fireman who saved the city during the 1906 earthquake and other fires.
Musée Mécanique was and as far as I know still owned by my Dad’s cousin , Dan Zelinsky. His dad started it. As a kid I remember going to their house and in the garage where a few of these machines he would be working on. The old location was out by the Cliff House.
Musee Mecanique will always be one of my favorite places on Earth. I used to visit it almost weekly just to stroll through between classes. Absolutely love the history contained in that building.
That tower certainly has a better view than Clermont Tower. Haha. Also In 1971 I drove down Lombard Street in my husband's stick 454 Chevelle. And I just learned how to clutch and break at once. Crazy
I lived in San Francisco for a couple of years. And you just got there a couple of days ago. I have never seen it as clear as this video shows. It seems that every day I was there (living or visiting) was ever as clear as this day. Unbelievable. It angers me because I tried so hard to take photos and see it this sharp. Nice 👍🏻

There is another movie was based there , Your Mind and Ours, Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda , but the families home they all moved into was not in the bay area , but down here in the southland in the Los Angeles County .

San Francisco has a great Farmers Market on the pier on Saturday. They have alot of great food there you can order.

Love to watch you both together it works well! I thought they took people away from driving down Lombard Street. I was down there a few years ago and nobody was driving that.I use to go there as a teen and we’d run that over and over in our cars! Nothing you won’t see in SF. Quite the city.! Use to love it there so much!

Good morning Adam , all those hilly roads with great veiws. If one has a car in San Francisco you better make sure you have good breaks.If iam at a stop light and I see a driverless car it would freak me out I would get out his way take care from Universal Jamie.

There is another movie was based there , Your Mind and Ours, Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda , but the families home they all moved into was not in the bay area , but down here in the southland in the Los Angeles County .

Next time you’re in San Francisco you should go to Ranch Obi-Wan. It’s in Petaluma near by and it is the largest Star Wars collection you’ll ever see. Thanks for great vids. Brought back some good memories from my last trip I made out there.
