I love how much weight the instruments have in this album, it kinda transforms Evanescence from rock to metal. The girth and little details just make it feel so heavy
This song pushed Amy's vocals to the absolute limit. Made Of Stone definitely shows what she can really do.

This is her BEST song, vocally.
Putting aside how amazing her range and power is, how long Amy Lee can hold a strong, unwavering note in so many different pitches in songs like this and Good Enough is just plain mental.
Another great band with a female lead singer is "Lzzy Hale," of Halestorm. She has also sang a duet with Amy Lee. Just listen to "I miss the Misery, " Apoctiliptic " & "The Familiar Taste of Poison". She has a rougher voice than Amy but the can hold a note like Amy Lee.

I listened to Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Shinedown and Nickleback (Specifically "If Everyone Cared") while riding in a Gun Turret through the Al Anbar Province of Iraq in 2006-2007 for sixteen months. Their Music will always have a special place in my heart.
Also, Shinedown's performance on the U.S.O. Tour was absolutely amazing. Two of our guys grabbed a bunch of Chem-Lights and passed them around a theatre that was at or above capacity with 300+ Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Civilians. The plastic casing of the chem-lights were cut open and the whole place was splattered painted in glowing colors of blue, red, yellow, orange, and green. It was on the Marine Corps Birthday. I could never explain the value of completely forgetting where we were at and what we had been and would continue to do there. Even more impressive, was that the band didn't just vanish after the show. They gathered at our MWR (Morale Welfare & Recreation) facility and signed autographs and let people have their pictures taken with them.
Listening to "If Every One Cared" by Nickleback while sitting in a gun turret in the dead of the early morning while looking at a crescent moon with a star near the opening of the crescent is also a powerful experience. There is such beauty to be found if we look for it, and if people choose to show their true selves to us. I must say there is something about Evanesence's sound that lets your mind set itself in a place of peace and still be present in the moment. Such a difficult thing to describe and I'm unaware of any words that can properly do it justice. Of course in reflection, as things become more fluid and changing, it seems some people aim is to destroy some of the most beautiful things from amidst a time that had some horrible and sometimes confusing memories.
Someone told me recently that Amy Lee had died. I truly hope that she isn't dead, and if so, the world has lost someone with a rare talent in my opinion.

I love the feel of the this song. The heavy strings on the guitars are amazing. The drummer puts in his work as well and Amy sings her heart out. Love it!!
I remember when I was a young'in I used to love everything about this band. I've gotten into different types of music as I've gotten older, and while I'm not as big of a fan as I was then, I respect them just as much, If not more. Especially Amy Lee. She is an absolutely incredible singer, a great pianist, and a great writer.
