my grandpa used to play a french horn like this and this is what he sounded like, though he was getting older he never missed a beat or lost his breath, and you played amazingly well, we still have his instruments in storage, sadly due to my heart conditions there would be no way i could ever learn how to play like him no matter how hard i tried and he had been playing since he was like in middle school and he was 80 by the time he died i still remember the last time he conducted an orchestra and the last time he played the french horn, it was always classical music - it still plays loudly in my ear and i got chills down my spine like i feel like i can feel his spirit or some kind of ghost in the room bravo thank you for helping me remember him in that way and i'm probably going to listen to some classical music now, because that's all my grandpa ever listened to and i should probably listen to some more rather than the garbage they have today - though i'll admit you're nowhere near his level (like i said he was 82/83 when he died) you're still amazing, and the only thing that saddens me is that the model of the instrument wasnt the same and it wasnt an antique like the one my grandpa had and yet i still could imagine him playing this in heaven looking so peaceful with his old rusty french horn i had grown up to see - it's not a slander - it's just - i'm nitpicky when it comes to details like that, and i hadn't realized how much i love these type of instruments and classical music again thank you for this it soothed me
Hey, it's been some time, but I just wanted to come here since I'm now at a very similar situation to yours. I lost my grandpa about two months ago at the age of 81. He also played french horn 'till his last years and was amazing at it. After his death I've been listening a lot of classical and other french horn music. You're right, this really felt like he was with me listening to this ❤
Epic melody on your french horn! Your video came out automatically after I finish one of my friends videos and wow, that is so cool! You are super talented! You have a new friend here! Keep on rockin'. Have an epic day!🎶👏🤙
You made me to fall in love with this amazing instrument! My husband has a trumpet and first i want to learn play it, and after that, my dream is to buy a french horn...but, untill then, i will listen this song every single day. ❤ Thank you so much for your work! You are awesome!❤
and i hope you gain more recognition because instruments and covers like this are criminally underrated, i hope you grow more, though i have to ask, how long have you been playing? how old are you? i'm 23 and i have no musical ability whatsoever because i'm stubborn and i refused to listen and learn and i procrastinate but maybe i can learn how to play piano or Ukulele someday, i could never learn how to play something like a wind instrument
I follow your page and think you play wonderfully, love this! Fantastic job! Keep up the great work!!!! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Enjoy your French horn videos, very talented!
...the sound depends a lot, in addition to the skill of the player, on the instrument and the acoustics. By the way!, what is the brand of the instrument? Gebr. Alexander I guess, everyone is good at playing with 10,000 euro horns ...
read your website, i have no idea how i haven't heard of you before, some of those names sound familiar, i hope i wasn't offensive in the comments... though if i could rewrite my critque from seeing years of my grandfather playing, like i said your playing versus him playing - he was always just so... peaceful. that's what i meant by 'you have a long way to go' he was always just so happy doing what he was doing playing music for people and he didn't even care if he got paid for it as long as he played music for people that's what he did then so be it, and he was like - wow - the peace you could see on his face, but it's like imagine where you'll be when you're his age and if your still playing and if you've reached that level of enlightenment that's what i hope maybe one day to see you at. i hoped i meant no offense probably because my grandpa retired early and made his life's worth off of making music by working for the military as a musician/officer and then got a pension and he was an middle school band teacher and was satisfied with that, and i dont know. he was just content. easy-going, go with the flow. The thing is when i see older musicians like around my grandfather's age play music they seem so deep-in-thought and like they're thinking of something - but nothing at all, and when i see musicians your age and my age i have a feeling they're trying to 'just get it right and oh lord what if i screw up' but that's why i meant you have a long way to go, and yet i really was impressed by your playing, i meant no offense (wind instruments on the internet aren't played as much as they should, the only instrument that is really popular is the sax, i don't see many people play the French horn)
@@AlanaBeDootin if you are trying to be a professional musician then I kindly suggest you find a good teacher and consider getting a college degree in music. Also you will need to practice a lot to improve your sound and technique. Good luck.
@@AlanaBeDootin to give you an idea of what a professional horn player should sound like I will refer you to listen to recordings of the following: Dennis Brain, Hermann Baumann, Dale Clevenger, Stefan Dohr, etc. This should hopefully give you an excellent idea of what you should be striving for in your playing. I am guessing you are a high school player so I won’t be too harsh on you. Best of luck in your studies and perhaps you should consider majoring in business.
French Horn. The saddest brass instrument. Dang. Well done. One day I'll get through this song without wanting to cry. One day.
Do it today

In music how you sound is more important than how you look. Don’t quit your day job.
This is my day job so thanks, I won’t! ♥️🫡
