One of the great things about Oklahoma's stadium is that it is right in the middle of campus which gives it an incredible historic feeling when walking around the area. It also comes with it's disadvantages though with limited immediate parking and room to expand. It definitely has a Fenway/Wrigley feel.
Years ago where the South end zone and practice field is was the OU baseball field. So we could watch spring football practice and a college baseball game. NOT KIDDING BOOMER SOONER!!
Joe C. is the best AD in the business, and while OU could have easily expanded to 100k or more, he chose to keep this a hard ticket to get. UT and A&M historically have not sold out their stadiums for every game, and that's a bad look for the schools. They're also extremely well funded so they'll throw their money at facilities willynilly. A&M always tries to be a little bigger than UT, because they've never had that cache with the general CFB world. OU will grow as needed, but start with other higher needs - press box, practice/academic/new coaches offices, etc. I can see OU picking a happy medium of about 95,000 at the end of the day as I see an upper deck in the north endzone in the future. Can't wait to travel to these SEC stadiums. I loved the trip to Tuscaloosa in 2003 or '04 (can't quite remember). Fans went overboard to treat us extremely well. I missed Neyland a few years back. Can't wait to be there, the Grove, Tiger Stadium at night, etc.
Bro, no one is adding seats anymore. Less and less people are going to stadiums for games, so new renovations are based on comfort not just adding seats.
I wish Tennessee luck in their home games at [checks notes] Kneelond Stadium. Also, whoa, Stanford Stadium? I can't believe the Cardinal bought the naming rights to Georgia's home field, smh.
OU has put more emphasis on comfort for a lot of the seating, so they actually lost some seats with a recent renovations. Lots of seat backs and leg room and whatnot.
Tiger stadium gets crazy hot, but 2019 at DKR the Longhorns stadium is the HOTTEST game I have ever experienced and it was at night. I heard a couple different explanations but it was crazy freaking hot.
OU seating capacity is 86,212. Good lord dude, at least up the information before you make a post. Not to mention, Oklahoma is a tiny state of only 4 million people and OU still has a larger TV audience than TU and the other teams you mentioned.
Vanderbilt is not moving its early home games to a high school stadium. That was a joke made by someone in Knoxville attached to the Tennessee football program. They briefly thought about playing one home game at Nissan Stadium and one at Geodis Park, but the decision was to play all home games at home without the use of the end zone seats. It means less opposition fans there that force Commodore QBs to use hand signals to call plays on their home turf.
Fun fact Darrell K Royal Stadium was named after a Oklahoman in a former OU player. And the Texas logo in the end zone. Looks like ovaries and a uterus.😅 when the players come out 😂😂😂😂
Meanwhile the Wisconsin Badgers just gutted their end zone seating and took out 6,200 seats to make way for what they call the "Premium Experience" for rich people only It includes a restaurant mid level, and cubicles at ground level with aluminium patio furniture and rolling office chairs. As if Camp Randall, which was already ugly and asymmetrical, wasn't ugly and small enough. It has now gone from holding 82,000 to 75,800 just so rich people can enjoy not watching the game.
For what it's worth, the UF renovation is now said to be "at least" $400 million. And there's talk that they might just have to tear the whole thing down and rebuild it somewhere else on campus, which will probably cost in excess of $1 billion.
Must be a Texas fan since you dissed OU and did not mention the Aggies and could not pronounce the Vols stadium. Texas routinely gets beat at home. They do not have a great home field advantage they just have a big building.
@TheKevinNewsom Good means not losing and dominating and that ain't them. They fired Herman who won all his bowls no losing record and had top 10 and 3 classes. Sark inherited a winning and talented team and went 5-7. He has never won 10 games and has been a HC at power programs... Scrub.
@@dwayneockletree9848 "Often" means losing more than winning. And that ain't them. Texas' home record the last five seasons: 5-2, 4-2, 3-2, 5-1, 5-1. As far as Sark goes, first seasons generally are pretty rough. See Brent Venables at OU for reference.
It’s good capacities are trending downwards. Because tv is more accessible than ever, people who would have driven the distance to the stadium are staying home more and more, especially the farther they are.

Yeah all Alabama’s parking is on the other side of campus and they have to run busses lol.
I can’t unsee Texas long horns running out of a female birthing canal. Y’all are welcome

Neyland, It's pronounced Knee-lind stadium.

Neyland: Knee-lawn….. seems right to me.
Texas longhorns are not done They are putting in a recruiting suite And all new l e d lighting

How many times are you going to say Neylawnd stadium before you actually listen to everyone say that your are saying it wrong
I am a Mississippi State fan and it annoyed the hell out of me. I can only imagine how much it would irk a Tenn fan.

That Texas Stadium looks nice. But I'll never set foot inside it. Boomer.
I don't like the design of the Alabama stadium
From the outside it looks like a parking garage

Fun fact he chose to leave Oklahoma for Texas, and OU has to fill half of its roster with players from Texas. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I would love to see the Oklahoma and Texas game moved to a home-and-home series instead of having to play in the raggedy-ass Cotton bowl every year
