I love how you manage the video clips. Every time I want to fast forward the video you beat me to it.
For a home fabrication you did an excellent job! Congrats and best of luck on future projects...
Loads of information: terrific results, well impressed. Good luck with all your future endeavors!
OMG. Fantastic work. Well done 👍 so jealous. I love the sound from electric motors
BEEN thinking about this for our speed boat you have done it thank you
Amazing to see this, loving this project!
Hi. Just found this channel your my new hero. New to solar. Play with etoys. . You don't mess around. Thanks for your efforts great info!!
Wow!!! Very Very impressive....Awesome craftsmanship...
Awesome stuff man. Really impressive!
This is freaking awesome man :)
Excellent work! Love it
WOW Thats Awesome Thanks for Sharing!!
That is awesome!!! How much running time do you get on a charge?
I havn't seen much video's regarding the electric type or convertion to electric power vids and I must say this is the best vid I have ever seen and the best thing is I speed. I think by minimising some of the weight on te boat will rocket you speed and bring down your power consumtion and lengthen you time on the water. I think there is a hell of a future for you in this industry and best of luck forward. Maybe I will come apon a product of your design that I will enjoy using.
Great video. Nice work.
Nicely done!!
I love what you have done with your boat!!! What are some of your resources? I want to do this type of outboard conversion for a small flats boat.
Pretty neat concept! That's faster than my 18 foot Basstracker with a 90 hp. Mercury!
Very nice job!! Keep it up!!!
Absolutely wonderful.
I am very impressed with what you have achieved. The quality and workmanship is by far the best i have scene. Well done.
I am a boat dealer in Australia, interestingly i specialize in RIB's, but i would love to pick your brain at some point regarding the lessons you learned to get to this point.
I am Building a 22 foot long boat style skiff, this engine is exactly what Ive dreamed about powering it with. Also incorporating a full solar roof to charge and offer some shade from the Aussie heat. I was also thinking about a small honda genset, for the longer weekends away.
Great job once again.

I am still learning and would love to chat with you as well.
Did you have your eyes closed when he showed the aluminium motor mount.. !!! (Sorry I am a welder by trade) haha :-)
Sure, throw a couple solar panels on the bimini to re-charge. Should only take about 3 years to get enough charge to get you around the lake again. This is not a trolling motor using a couple of 20 amp hour wheelchair batts. Seriously. That motor is sucking more juice than your entire block under acceleration and fast cruise.
Your results are amazing.
You need to get a patent on that.!!! Very nice work.!
I thought the four-blade racing prop might be a bit aggressive, the three blade gives you the "jump to lightspeed" we all know and love.
Awesome project and must be a blast to drive.
Well done dude!
hi love your work! i wish you would join forces with a outboard manufacturer to create this one in a series to be sold. As well as a battery package and diagrams to adapt to people who already own solar panels at home. Create "removable"batter sets so one is charging while the other is been used. Can u share actual run time with your setting? thanks
Very Cool, Well Done!!!
i am really interested in more information, i would love to build something like this. what does a tesla cell entail?
Them 4 stroke outboards are getting fast now
Very interesting I enjoyed the engineering
!! Great job !!!
Very nice love to see something outside the box 😎
I am almost impressed. I was smiling the hold time. Boat if you convert a large vessel, let me know. I would love to see that video test.
Grateful,,, work, job, idea, electrical men....good luck to you.....
Inspirational video
You have a new sub my man! I used to have a business, Advanced Power Products Ltd., selling an electric tractor up here in Nova Scotia, Canada and I love all things electric. I'm very impressed as well, with what you have going on in the electric world. I wish there were more like minded people where I live. I see you have a Mean Green mower...how do you like it? I am looking forward to "catching up" with your CZcams site as time permits...so far so good! Cheers, John ;)
Great job, this is the future, from an old water skier.
Amazing where can we buy it and how much trailer included thanks
hi, nice work, where did you buy the Tesla battery modules? I think they would be great for my EV conversion
Very cool well done 🖒
Question, if you square the hydrodynamic load of the coils and invert the prop blades in degrees you'll realize I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Without the Dilithium Crystals you're toast anyway. You have the magnafluxer of course?
What I love about this guy is that the next step might be an elevator or excavator or whatever, and he just builds that too. It's brains that will make America great again, if they're allowed to play, and they want to play, in a lopsided game.
Chris Freely - Oh man... SO funny I nearly choked on my coffee!
but with out knowing you have come up with the answer
But 240v for a sport boat application should be an option, but not the standard. Unless someone want to use their dryer cord to charge their boat..not real practical, unless you can pull into a Tesla station and charge there. But then the Catastrophic converter might blow. She'd just be getting way too too much Captain..
Ken Lopossa what's wrong with using standard 240V outlets? You can plug it in in every room.
THAT, is just AWESOME.
good job
That’s awesome!
What are the characteristics (brand, model, power) of the electric motor and how did you select them?
Neat concept and application but I am curious about the plain boat for use with a conventional motor. Where can I get information on the rigid inflatable ? Thanks and best wishes on your projects ! - Don
Sweet bad ass !!! Looks great!
I've done this on mine, works like a dream.
Great boat and nice video! I can tell a lot of work went into it. I've been wanting to do an electric boat for years. I'm not so sure you can technically call it solar powered if the the solar system is separate? Also how do you find the curtis controllers? Have you tried tweaking many of the parameters?
Thanks for watching! I would encourage you to go electric! I do call it solar powered because 100% of the electricity I've ever charged it with is from my solar panels. Also, I have a 620 watt solar bimini top which can charge it directly. (See Worlds best electric boat update to see this under construction.) I got the controller from thunderstruck motors. Also check out HPEVS.com I've had to program everything to match my parameters.
Great job! I have a little less ambitious idea to convert a smaller outboard with a golf cart motor, for a 14 foot sailboat. Would you have a suggestion about a simple motor/battery combo? Thanks!
you should use synthetic oils in the lower unit and Greece if you're not already help get rid of drag
Fantastic work! How long is you battery life under load?
Without the outboard running you could still literally talk to the skier that would be cool. Can't say I've ever been able to do that.
It's a Curtis 1239E Motor controller. It's really slick, it even has connections for all kinds of safety interlocks etc. I bought mine from thunderstruck-EV.com. They're available in different voltage and current configurations this one can take up to 170 V and 500 A
good job 👌
I'm amazed that the gearbox holds up to that much power.
I'm missing the solar part
He charges the boat battery with his solar array on his house. Thereby, it is a solar powered boat.
Well done
What did you use tha convert the battery D.C. to 3 phase synchronis
oh my god!!! those welds!!!
i can't....
They don't look pretty but they have plenty of penetration that's all that matters you, Poser! Bet you never welded anything in your life, other than jumper cables on your neighbours truck hood on accident ya kook!
Gota love a guy that uses his hoodie for a spark shield
You have something there !
How many tesla modules and what's your runtime at cruising speed?
Very cool !
So i am just going to tell you what you already hear all the time im sure . You are awesome your electric motor is awesome too
Awsome! How long will the charge last?
I think you've created something many would purchase. I don't care what others say, electric is the future. boats have long been polluters and there's a big need for a boat like this. they have multi million dollar electric yachts. a ski boat slash tender is an awesome idea
So sophisticated to be in water
Hi!
In what place installs a solar panel?
Thank you.
How long will it the battery’s last at full power and how did you get the Tesla battery’s
What controler did you buy? Can you post full parts list?
ola amigo qual o motor que voce esta usando qual as eespeccificaçoes
Add some super caps for getting on plane quickly....
Did you do an endurance test, to see how far you could go on a single charge? How much did the batteries weigh? Fully loaded, my boat carries 58gal of fuel, and has a 200hp engine. So I carry 353lbs of fuel. I can cruise at 20 knots for almost 9hrs at 2800rpm. My boat weighs about 4500lbs fully loaded.
I love it! Great job on a great project. Looks like your welder needed a couple more batteries to get good penetration on that aluminum plate. lol It appears that you are certainly smarter than me, and likely don't need the advice, but if you preheat your aluminum plate with a torch or in the oven, you'll get by with a smaller welder. Again, great job. Subscribed.
What was the final tally on the conversion?
Wow awesome, how long will it run at half throttle and full power on a single charge? And how many miles will it go at half throttle and full throttle?
Any word on the range?
Wow, very cool. Great job. Why wasn't the oil cooled motor not good at the end?
Seems to me the oil leaked oil when positioned in a way it not made to be placed, not to also mention it adds weight on top with the cooling system needing to be installed to cool the hot oil.
I love this idea I'm glad it worked out great but a typical gas and does not idle at 1000 rpms and idles at about 5 to 600 RPMs anything higher than that will cause damage to the forward and reverse selector also you need to switch over to a hydraulic trim this will help you plane easier and then you can change the pitch on the engine itself the cruise better at speed
Great job guys, all electric is the future.
Awesome!
Can you throttle down to say 3-5 mph for fishing purposes? A problem with large engines requiring a second much smaller 'kicker' outboard.
How the DC voltage from battery powered the AC 3-ph motor? What the devices (controller and etc?) used ? What component should we consider for all system or could you give the reference so i can learn about the system?
Hey Net, What was the run time on this thing?
What is the run time at a smooth cruse speed.
Awesome ♥️
Could you post a parts list including detailed gauges and capacities of what you used. I want to make a dual prop inboard 24' that recharges using wind turbines.
I need one can you help me and how much do I have to pay?
What is the battery endurance you achieved for towing a skier as you demonstrated? Or putting around the lake with two adults and a child onboard? Can you put it in practical terms, not just amp hours.
cool stuff
Any chance of an update? It would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to recreate this motor for pontoon/ med speed use with a canopy of solar panels.
Hi! My next project will be a houseboat with 30,000 watts of solar and twin 250hp electric inboards. 5 days to fully recharge will give me the ability to go anywhere on lake Powell and never stop for gas again! I like the idea of a pontoon boat! Lots of flat space for solar and large flat batteries. I'd use a full, in-tact Tesla car battery pack. 85 to 100 kWh. Waterproof and ready to go. Jack Rickard at EVTV.me makes controllers for them.
Awesome. You and I are definayely on the same page. Your toys however are much nicer.
Well thats AWESOME
buenas tardes, me gustaria saber si ustedes venden el sistema completo y como se llama su empresa
Where did you get tesla battery pack?
I've had a motorboat most of my adult life and they've all been outboards that would be something really cool not to hear the engine running I was happy when I bought the forestroke it was a lot quieter But this is a whole new level of quiet.
ficou incrivel muito bom mesmo tenho vontade de faser em um barco pequeno normal
Where did you get the RIB
Was the lake at cherry creek park?
53 mph ....but for how long? Minutes, then need a tow?
What motor did you use?
