My first 3 tree's were a ficus microcarpa, chinese elm, and a satsuki azalea. Working with the ficus and some of the flowering species is what I enjoy working with most.

Amazing! I was thinking back from the beginnings of this tree, and remembering what seems like a tremendous amount of life I have experienced since then! Wow! It's been very exciting and chock full of experiences I never imagined I would have! What a ride it has been to date, and the same goes for your Microcarpa.
I think the "Covid years" aged all of us so quickly in those two years, and it really took its toll on our hair and skin. It did for me, and of course, you've turned into a grey pineapple! LOL!

This is actually the tree that made me find your channel in 2016. I lived in Hong Kong back then and i had a microcarpa tree in my street and i took a cutting off of it and i started looking for information about how to grow it as a bonsai tree 😊

I can't imagine how it must have felt to cut the roots off at the time, what a fantastic demonstration of the tenacity of the Ficus microcarpa. It looks like your choice of bonsai soil has naturally evolved over time, what kind of soil did you use when you cut the roots?
